Itâs been about 3 weeks since we adopted our little fur-baby and we are SOOO grateful for the whole experience from Erin and the Lovejoy Foundation.
I found our little pup on Petfinder. My husband and I have casually looked for dogs for about a year but either timing wasnât right, or we just didnât get that âlove at first sightâ feeling from other dogs. After seeing her photos on Petfinder, I immediately called the Lovejoy Foundation to see if she was even still available. I got a friendly woman on the phone who confirmed the dog was still available and I should fill out the application on their website to make the adoption process quicker if we made it through their step-by-step process. The woman told me that we are welcome to come to their adoption event on Saturday so my husband and I can be interviewed and spend time with the dog to see if itâs a good fit. We literally cleared out our plans because we felt this was it!
After emailing my application and not hearing back, I called Lovejoy Foundation. I thought if we didnât even make it past the application process, then we wouldnât waste our time going to the adoption event. This is when I got on the phone with Erin. She took about 45 minutes out of her day to talk to me (a complete stranger to her) about the whole adoption process, our plans if we did get the dog, the personality type of the dog...really just the whole sha-bang! She is just one of the most honest and real person Iâve ever met.
Fast forward to the adoption event, we got to sit with the dog for about an hour and fell in love with her. She is the cutest thing!!! Erin came out and introduced herself, we talked with her, and she approved us to adopt! Best news ever :D
They chipped her on the spot and explained everything that the adoption fee entailed. We signed contracts and Erin took time away from her busy event to guide us through the first few days (what we needed, what to look out for, etc.) We left happy as happy parents!
To present day, our dog is having some allergy issues and Erin has been with us every step of the way. Sheâs given us a wealth of knowledgeable tips to help our dog without an expensive visit to the vet. Her advice really does work. She really just wants you (the parents) and your new dog to succeed!
We are so thankful for becoming part of the Lovejoy family and would hands down recommend family and friends to...
Read morePlease please please do not adopt from them! You will highly regret it. They've put me through so much trouble and because they know this they continue to ignore phone calls and emails The first pup we adopted from them was given to us with parvo, we were told they were tested for parvo before being handed to us, which was untrue, within just a few days our pup had passed away. We were devastated for months. We were told we would get the print of his paw prints, but Erin would not send them to us.. we paid $450 for that pup, Erin insisted that she would send the money back ( which she never did ) and also told us when we are ready we can come back and get another dog for free. We waited months for the refund and never received it. So we figured we would just go get another pup, when you receive a pup from a Erin she also gives you a few papers that tell you what to feed them, about their shots and spay/neuter. The shots, microchip and neuter was all supposed to be covered by Erin, per her words via email, text, and on paper. About a month of having our new pup we received an email from her that she will not be covering the neuter which is roughly $500 and that she will now only reimburse us $75. At this point we said fine, and went along and paid for the neuter.. 5 months later and I'm still waiting on our $75 refund. Which I'm sure will never come Erin and her company are not legit! They lie Save yourself the time and energy...
Read moreFound Lovejoy online bc no available petco grooming appointments worked with my schedule. (Yale & Wilshire-Wdogsy go to for grooming). When I scheduled an appt. at a petco in Westchester, inconveniencing my time to be at work, I arrive to be told my appt. was never confirmed. I searched where to get dogs nails cut & the Lovejoy foundation came up. They were available immediately. Upon arrival, I meet & give Joey to a nice older gentleman w/ long hair(his name's slipped my mind đ¤Śââď¸). He took Joey in & did his nails immediately. About 4min later Joey was given back to me. Joey's shy, not good w/ strangers, & a very vocal when separated from me-seperation anxiety's a understatement! When getting his nails done, I hear him crying, whimpering & screaming only bc he's scared. His nails were perfect! He's a small jack Russell chihuahua mix so when asked if a muzzled was needed, I said no bc tho he growls and barks he is just that-All bark, no bite! Joey came out with the man content and at ease almost like he was with his owner. I instinctively reach for my wallet to pay & am told its free. (Of course i give a tip/donation) This place was clean, friendly, easy to locate/access, & VERY GOOD WITH, KIND TO & KNOWLEDGEABLE OF pets. I'll 100% be back in 3-4 weeks as the...
