I've been at this storage facility for 7 months and this guy name Lavonte mgr. Assistant is very rude. He yelled and screamed at my husband I was on the phone and heard how he talked down to my husband. I need the manager to call me ASAP. This man behavior is unacceptable when paying tenants are mistreated. We have not had any issues before so clearly this man is a problem. When I called to report this issue he started arguing and yelling at me on the phone I just hung up. Unacceptable business practice. And I also do not appreciate my husband being addressed as dog my husband is not a dog and that is unacceptable an unprofessional behavior especially coming from a quote on quote manager assistant. I also do not appreciate this man's abuse of power because he is a manager assistant you are not allowed to threaten somebody because they simply asked for their space and tell you that they do not need your help several times politely and then yell and scream at them like they're your child and then threatened to have them kicked out and packed up I don't think so. And a video needs to be reviewed this happened January 14th approximately between 8:20 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. And just to add an update the manager of the facility called me up try to make it seem like my husband is the bad guy when my husband politely told him several times that he did not want any assistance and even the manager agreed that the manager assistant should have simply just walked away. what that manager assistant did was entice a unnecessary situation unnecessary drama and then the manager has the audacity to tell me when I brought to his attention my husband did not appreciate being addressed as dog and to stop being called dog because they're not friends or acquaintances the manager had the nerves to tell me that that's how men talk. I interrupted and told him I work in customer service and I have been called out of my name I have a never ever once put myself down on a customer level knowing that they're paying my payroll check. That is unacceptable coming from the manager and the manager assistant. Then managers calling me up like my husband is a problem no your manager assistant is the problem. And also the manager was even argumentative on the phone which is recorded,he called me up in an accusatory manner as if I had nothing viable to input or say in this situation. He was also rude over talking me and making it seem like I was being the aggressor when he called me up with an aggressive attitude to begin with covering for his manager assistant. I don't appreciate being talked over as a customer when I'm the one who's calling and reaching out with a complaint. And I am glad that everything is audio recorded and video because if we went to the court of law they will see everything from the beginning to the end how this manager was the enticer in this situation. Also the office lied and said my husband punched in the wrong code. Why would the elevators open for him then?. No he didn't type the wrong code. As he entered the elevator someone else walked up typing their code in when only one customer is suppose to go on the elevator at a time. My husband had to tell the other tenet to stop entering his code because he is messing up and that's why my husband kept getting on and off the elevator. Corporate is getting involved and I'm grateful. I would like to conclude I thank the district manager I believe correct me if I'm wrong and I do apologize if I get his name spelled incorrectly Salvador contacted me and reached out he was very diplomatic in the situation he allowed my husband to speak for himself and to listen to our concerns and the situation at hand which was not given to me when I spoke with the manager on the phone earlier. Other than that the facility is very clean, safe and overall have some very pleasant employees. I enjoy my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a terrible experience with Extra Space Storage. I scheduled my move-out for the 20th, but on the very day I was set to pick up my belongings, I received a call from the staff informing me that a fire had occurred the night before. They waited until 11:00 AM on the day of my move-out to inform meājust as I was heading out to the facility.
I made six calls after that, spoke with three different staff members, and not one of them could give me clear information about the situation on-site. All they could say was that no one had access to it. The complete lack of transparency was incredibly frustrating. I flew all the way from Seattle to LA just to retrieve my belongings and move into my apartment, only to be left with nothingāno essentials, nothing to live with. When I asked if they would compensate me for the items Iād need to repurchase if this dragged on for days, they told me that my rental was valid until September and that theyād only compensate me if I couldnāt retrieve my items after that.
My roommate and I walked on the 24th, checked in at the SAME TIME, and I could see my name was right under hers on the list. But despite this, she was assisted within five minutes, while I ended up waiting for over AN HOUR AND HALF, watching as other customersāwho definitely werenāt ahead of me on the listāwere helped before me? When I asked why so many people were getting assistance ahead of me, I was told they had scheduled online, but my appointment was technically much earlier.
The front desk employee Marian, who was incredibly patient and kind was the only bright spot. She answered all my questions and tried to reassure me throughout the entire ordeal. However, despite her best efforts, the overall experience was full of disappointment. Plus one of the team members of yours needs to learn to lock the bathroom when doing their business. Overall, the mismanagement, lack of communication, and outright confusion made this an incredibly stressful situation. I will never trust this storage company ever again and will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook off of work and flew to LA from Chicago just to move my daughter into her LMU sophomore apartment today. They get one day to move in, and today is the day. She scheduled her storage unit move out day today, but when we went by the Extra Space storage facility at 5555 W. Manchester they refused to let us access the unit because there was a small fire in the facility. They said we would have access to her storage unit three days from today, on Friday. I'm leaving LA tomorrow and my daughter does not have a car. We are beyond frustrated and my daughter is in tears because everything for her apartment (including clothes and furniture) is in that storage unit and she is basically homeless for the next few days. Extra space said they emailed us, but we received nothing from them. I have to get back to work, and just really upset that I have to leave my daughter WITHOUT ANY OF HER BELONGINGS in LA, in an apartment without clothes or furniture or cutlery or toiletries or ANYTHING. I'm a single mom sending my daughter to college, and we really can't afford to buy a bunch of new things. Beyond angry, upset and disappointed with Extra Space storage. I would definitely never store anything at this facility as you may not have access to...
