I started seeing Dr. Wallace about 2 years ago for Psoriasis. At first I thought he was a good dermatologist and really explained to me my options for treatment. He recommended I try an injectable called Humera. I have been on many treatments for my skin as I have had many dermatologists since I was 3 years old. Anyway, I was open to his opinion and gave it a try. long story short, after a year it just did not work for me anymore and I was experiencing some other side effects that made me feel uncomfortable. To my surprise Dr Wallace insisted I stay on humera and also go back to what I was on before (methrotrexate). So I was taking Humera and methrotrexate and my skin still was not clearing up. I decided to take myself off the injectable and to stay on just the pill (methrotrexate). When I told Dr. Wallace his whole attitude changed and seemed upset that I decided to do that. I asked him if it was common that humera didn't work for me and his response was "actually no, not really" which made me feel bad about myself. All I know is that for some reason he did not want me on methrotrexate. I'm curious because methrotrexate requires you to have monthly blood screenings, when I was on humera and methrotrexate he never required that, but once I decided to stop humera, all the sudden, he had to me do it every month, if I was one day late on getting him my blood results he would not fill my prescription and make me come in to see him.. Always insisting I can not stay on this pill for long and to try this "NEW" injectable that just came out... (DR. Wallace loves injectables) How many time do I have to tell him that I do not want to try anything else and that I am happy with what I was taking. Finally being fed up and stressed out, I found a great dermatologist that actually cares about my needs and not about how much the drug costs them.. On top of that, the office is unprofessional, and sometimes rude. I would honestly skip on Dr. Wallace and find someone that really care about...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Wallace Skin and Body Institute, and I must say the experience was outstanding. Dr. Wallace’s dedication and genuine care for his patients are truly remarkable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this wasn’t just another dermatology appointment. Dr. Wallace took the time to listen intently to my concerns, asking insightful questions about my daily habits and lifestyle. It was refreshing to have a doctor who genuinely wanted to understand my needs rather than jumping straight to medication.
What truly impressed me was Dr. Wallace’s approach to treatment. Instead of prescribing a quick fix, he recommended a specific shampoo to help with my scalp issues and suggested that we schedule a follow-up appointment in a few weeks for more intensive treatment if necessary. This thoughtful and measured approach made me feel valued and reassured that my care was in competent hands.
Equally impressive was the state of the facility. The Wallace Skin and Body Institute was immaculate and welcoming, creating a comfortable and professional environment that enhanced my overall experience.
Moreover, having a Black doctor in the neighborhood is a significant and meaningful aspect of my experience. It’s wonderful to see someone from the community providing such high-quality care. Dr. Wallace’s presence and expertise are not only a tremendous asset to the area but also a source of pride and inspiration.
I wholeheartedly recommend Wallace Skin and Body Institute to anyone seeking exceptional dermatological care. Dr. Wallace’s compassionate approach, combined with the institute’s pristine facilities, make it an outstanding choice for anyone looking to address their skin concerns...
Read moreI’ve been using Wallace Skin Care products for over two years now, and I must say, the quality of the products is exceptional, which is why I’ve remained a loyal customer for so long. However, my experience with their online ordering process has been frustrating. On multiple occasions, my orders were delayed for weeks, and in a few cases, even months without any communication or explanation. Despite this, they took my money promptly each time, leaving me feeling neglected as a customer.
Today, I decided to visit the office for the first time, and while my facial with Kristen Dayton was absolutely FABULOUS, the rest of my experience was disappointing. The front office staff was unprofessional, more focused on their cell phones than on greeting or assisting customers. After Ms. Dayton, who was kind and attentive, escorted me to the front desk, she offered me a bottle of water and left me in the hands of the receptionist. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn’t make eye contact and wasn’t friendly at all.
While admiring the artwork in the lobby, an earthquake occurred, startling both me and the staff. Despite the chaos, the three ladies at the front desk continued their phone conversations, one looking at her cellphone, and the receptionist who was supposed to be assisting me seemed more concerned with chatting with her colleagues. Not once did any of them check in with me, say thank you, or even acknowledge my presence after the shaking stopped.
As a Black business owner, I am deeply disappointed and embarrassed by the service I received today. This was my first and, regrettably, my last time visiting...
