I ordered a bottle tree from Cubby’s Art Studio through their Amazon store. The Seller has many positive reviews about their bottle trees and they looked very nice in the photos. I placed my order on Jun 22, 2020 and according to the tracking information, it was shipped the next day. My card was charged $86.35. On June 25th the tracker said it was ready for pickup. I didn’t understand why it wasn’t delivered to our home, but went to my local post office and was told it was still in transit. It ended up bouncing around between 3 other post offices before it was sent back to the Seller, arriving there on July 2nd.
The merchandise was returned to the Seller because they shipped it to the wrong address (not the address/zip code in my order). After several exchanges on Amazon, Cubby’s agreed to refund half of what I paid for the order, claiming the remainder was for shipping charges which they would not refund because I “refused” the item. However, I never received the item and tried without success to track it down using the tracking info on the order.
I am still waiting for my full refund, including the shipping charges, which were half of the price I paid for an item. In our exchanges, Cubby’s said they “never” make mistakes and used the address in my order. The owner, Walt, said the tracking info says the item was “refused” and returned. So, I reached out to the USPS thinking it was their mistake. The Postmaster responded by email confirming it was the Seller’s fault the item was incorrectly addressed. They sent a photo of the shipping label with the wrong address and a screenshot showing that the Seller entered the wrong address into the USPS system. As a result, they couldn’t deliver it to me and returned it to the seller.
Since Amazon won’t let me add photos to my contacts with the Seller, I went to their website and found the email address under their “Contact” link. I sent them the USPS email with the photos and a screenshot of my order which clearly showed the correct address and zip code. The Seller never responded, so I sent another message on Amazon and asked them to read the email I sent directly to them with the photos.
The Seller never acknowledged my email and still insists they do not make shipping mistakes and used the address in my order. They claim they copied the address from my order and said the USPS often changes zip codes. This makes no sense because I have made dozens of purchases on Amazon and all have shipped to my address without problem, whether from the USPS, UPS or Amazon’s delivery service.
This was 100% the seller’s fault, yet they have been untruthful and argumentative even after I sent them proof of their mistake. Now they claim they will close their Amazon store, but will not refund my money. I’ve been a faithful and frequent Amazon shopper for 17 years and this is the worst shopping experience ever. I have offered to send photos to Amazon to back-up what I’ve said in my complaint and asked Amazon to resolve this by getting me my full refund.
