Was really excited when I heard DQ was opening in Inverness. So excited, I decided to be one of the 1st 100 to buy a cake, so we could get the free mini blizzard every week for my son, kind of like a reward. We missed the 1st week, no big deal. The second week we decided to go on a Friday afternoon around 3:30. Went through the drive thru. Waited about 35 minutes, and finally got to our turn. We understood, they were still new to the area. My husband and I both ordered caramel frappes. My son tried to get the flavor of the month, they were out. No big deal, he got his favorite cookies and cream. We go to pay, we may have forgotten to mention the coupon book for the free mini blizzard (about 5 oz folks). We then get scolded, we shouldn't use the drive through for the coupon. Ok, we say sorry, and thank you and drive away. I'm thinking this was way too stressful for a free mini blizzard. And by golly, they punched next weeks punch, not this week. đ Only 1 punch per week.By this time, my frozen drink is dripping down my arm, I realize no napkins. Great. My husband asks where the change is for the twenty we gave them. I don't have it, I thought you did. Nope, no change. Called upon arriving home. First call voicemail. Second call; ask for a manager politely. They tell me to hold and place the phone down. I then hear them arguing that no one wants to talk to me. I overhear arguing about the phone, then get hung up on. Third call, I get the shift leader. Explain the important parts; change & punched wrong week. She tells me they are in the middle of dinner rush and need to check the register, and whatever, can she call me later that night or tomorrow? I say no problem. Give her home and cell #'s. I give her time. The next Friday rolls around. I go in smiling after work. I politely wait in line and ask to speak to the manager. Smiling the WHOLE time. Want to give them a chance so bad. I â¤đŚđ§ Waiting patiently, he finally comes out. I smile, wave and as he approached me I offer my hand to shake and introduce myself. I am continuing to smile. Not a smile out of him, and he still has no idea why I am there. I explain the situation, after gushing over how excited the town was they were here. He immediately get defensive and asks me where is my receipt, why didn't I fix it sooner. I explained I did, omitting half the complaints, I told him the girl at the drive thru now, took care of us then. I could go on and on. The result is he reluctantly gave me my change. And my son his mini blizzard for the week. No apology, no smile. Certainly not caramel frappes for my husband and myself for our trouble. Now, I park my car, send him in for his freebie, and drive to McDonald's for a...
Read moreFeb 1st 2025 at 2:31pm my husband and I ordered 2 blizzards he had oreo and I had ordered a oreo fudge brownie. 10min later I came back to the drive through because I had remembered my newborn was allergic to chocolate since I'm breastfeeding. I asked the worker (causcaian very thin brown hair in a bun woman late 20s to early 30) if she could exchange for another (since it was not long since I went through and I had not eaten the almost melted blizzard) she said no, why cant you trade with him (my husband) I said he has oreo, beside the point why would she want him to have something he wouldnt like. She was beyond nasty with her attitude. Though I explained my reason for coming back. She continued to have an attitude though I kept my composure not retaliating back at her, I didn't see why she kept pointing out that other places she went to don't do exchanges for things when she asks. But she kept telling lies such as no exchanges, no refunds, not having any leadership phone numbers. since they're in a restaurant business it just comes with the industry to exchange and refund, satisfy the customer. She had an attitude saying that's a you! problem after I said my husband has oreo its still chocolate. and she continued to say things that were lies such as she doesn't have the numbers for the corporate or district, regional, store manager. She said she was a manager and the the store manager after I had asked for someone above her. I told her I don't know Why she is being rude to me though I was not yelling nor with an attitude. She even said they take it out their paycheck and that if she does it for me she'd have to do it for everyone. Which made no sense since I was the only one in the drive thru at the time. This debate went on for 10mins even though it could've been a simple 2 mins. She even denied me a refund. So after 10min in the drive thru she decided with a very nasty attitude to say fine! What do you want! I said a caramel blizzard. She grabbed the one I had and brought another. Before I could say have a nice day she slams the window shut and walked away. Now I see why people prefer Baskin Robbins. I don't know Why she was so rude over something of a simple request. I was not coming at her in any type of way. But she was coming at me. And yes I feel she would have done my request nicely if I wasn't a black woman. This service was repulsive and I hope the next customer that makes a mistake in ordering has better luck. Though they shouldn't have to hence the meanings of customer service and restaurant industry which I've...
Read moreI recently discovered my love for ice cream, and Dairy Queen has quickly become my go-to spot! I was never really big on ice cream before, but now I canât get enough of their Blizzards. Oh my goodness, they're absolutely delicious! I've tried several flavors, but my top three favorites have to be the Royal New York Strawberry Cheesecake, the Brownie Batter, and most recently, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. Seriously, every single bite is packed with peanut butter cup goodness!
I appreciate that the Blizzards are consistently made well and have a reliable taste, but my visit to the Inverness location needs some improvement in that area. Unfortunately, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard I was handed was already melting, which was very strange and unlike any experience I've had before at Dairy Queen. I didn't get to enjoy it like I typically would, as it wasn't as frozen and creamy as I expect from a Blizzard.
Additionally, it seems that this location could benefit from better employee training on patience and customer service. The employee at the counter was a bit pushy and seemed more eager for me to leave than to assist, which detracted from my overall experience.
On a positive note, I do love pairing my Blizzard with the pretzel sticks and queso cheese from their two-for-five menuâit's the perfect little fill-up! And if youâre a rewards program fan, the app is a must! You can earn points for free foodâ250 points get you a free mini Blizzard, which is just the right size since theyâre so indulgent.
Despite these setbacks, I still canât get enough of Dairy Queen's tasty treats and look forward to trying their Blizzards again in the futureâhopefully with a bit more...
