I just wanted to start off by saying thank you to ALL of the staff at this location, your hard work does not go unnoticed and your kindness is BEYOND appreciated!!
My boyfriend and I were having a pretty bad first date here at Irvine, due to service at a few other establishments. Upon arriving at the Escape Game location for our reservation, we learned that we would be in a room with 11 other people and since our day had gone so sour, we really weren’t in the mood to do so. So, we spoke with Joe and immediately he was understanding and let us know that we can either refund or schedule for a later time and play it by ear to see if the room would fill up again. Upon returning, while waiting for our escape room to be reset we explained to Joe what we had been dealing with all day and he was SO understanding with such a bright personality. Once our room was complete our game guide Lizzy took us in the room and we explained everything to her as well and again were met with a bright and understanding personality. The room itself was SO much fun! The puzzles were very unique and our room had 3 different areas to it, which I’ve never seen in an escape room prior. Lizzy was amazing at giving us hints whenever we asked and we escaped the Playground with 3 minutes to spare! Once we completed the room, both Lizzy and Joe came in to speak with us about our experience. The whole staff team went ABOVE and BEYOND, to create custom cards for us (themed to our favourite video game in that one singular hour we were in the escape room) that were signed by everyone there that night. They gave us t-shirts, pins, online escape rooms, and many, many goodies. We have never had anyone in customer service ever do something like this, ever. They left us speechless and teary eyed, turned our day around, and have given us long lasting memories of our first date, and we are eternally grateful.
To Lizzy (bestie :) ), Joe, Collin, William, Gwen, Faye and the staff member that drew the yellow cats, please never stop being amazing, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We look forwards to escaping with you all again sometime, GG! - Alex...
Read moreWe had such a great time at the Escape Game in Irvine, Ca. it will be a treasured memory for us for years to come. My best friend and I found ourselves hanging out with eight 13 year olds at the Escape Game who were there to celebrate her daughters birthday.
The location was welcoming and ready for us and check in was super easy, even though it was a busy Saturday night.
We were introduced to our game guide Dylan who was fun and upbeat and completely unfazed by our pack of loud and excited teenage girls. He escorted us to our room and got us all set for the game with some ground rules and helpful tips.
The birthday girl had chosen the Playground Room which was such a fun and original theme. I have done a few escape rooms but this one was next level!! So many details and clever clues made this a one of a kind escape room for us all.
This was clearly not something thrown together quickly but a truly immersive experience that had been meticulously created.
All of the people who were working that night seemed to take pride in what they do and wanted to make sure we had a great time especially Dylan. He kept a helpful eye on us during the game, giving us clues and hints when needed. He was clearly paying attention and wanted to keep the energy and momentum going but also wanted the girls to be able to work through things on their on too.
The girls were able to escape which was super exciting for them ana even more important is that they had a wonderful shared experience that they can’t stop...
Read moreThis was my groups last The Escape Game in SoCal until the San Diego location opens. We did Gold Rush here to finish off what we had done in Rancho Cucamonga and The Block of Orange or w/e it's called now (Hate when places change names. Forever Staples Center!!) I won't spoil anything or set expectations, but Ayden was a 11/10 game master and really exceeded all expectations we had. The budget behind The Escape Game is one of a kind, and really beats most others almost setting an unrealistic bar of quality. Play all their games at any location you can get to. I wouldn't consider a single one unworthy of the cost. If you can end here, at Irvine Spectrum, see if you can get Ayden as your GM.. He's the most down to earth and awesome person we've encountered at any of our groups many escape room companies. If you've done escape rooms before, you know there's two types of people running it. Those with Xanax level of personality and those who are genuinely excited to see people enjoying themselves and thriving. Anyone who's into this... He's one of us and appreciates good players. All employees at The Escape Game really do seem to possess this quality.. They really are the gold standard of escape rooms, and this location/person took it to platinum. I don't write many reviews unless there's something exceptional or horrible, so take this as one humans organic response to an awesome time. I hope you (reader) have the same experience I/we did. So looking forward to the new...
