ALAN MADE ME CRY. First, let me say. The woman behind the counter was very, very nice. A few weeks ago, I dropped my engagement ring on a porcelain tile floor. Because of the way my prongs are, occasionally the stone will get loose. A few times while living in south OC, we've had to bring it in to our local jeweler there to have the prongs tightened (better safe than sorry) without issue. We have lived in central OC for years now and this is the first time where the loose prong issue has come up. We live nearby Jewels By Alan and walk past the storefront often, so of course they came to mind. After speaking to the woman at the counter, she had Alan come by to take a look. He said he could fix it. Before leaving, I asked if we could view our GlA number so that both parties could have that on record before leaving it in his hands, a practice I always follow. Alan suddenly changed his demeanor, put my ring down in the tray in which he had been examining it, and walked away saying he no longer wanted to fix it. I have been without wearing my ring for a few weeks now and was eager to begin wearing again. Alan's tantrum was incredibly rude and upsetting. I can't believe a jeweler in business as long as they have been would act this way. I definitely would not recommend Jewels By Alan to anyone I know looking for any jewelry. There are many other jewelers out there that don't conduct themselves is such a rude manner. I understand my business was not a money-making one for him, but it certainly doesn't mean it couldn't have turned into future business....
Read moreWhen my fiancé at the time and I moved to Irvine we frequented the Park Place shopping center often. We popped in to Jewels by Alan casually one day and we were immediately warmly welcomed by Nasrin who, without any pressure genuinely, took interest in us and the nature of our visit. In my experience, finding a piece of jewelry is the easy part however finding a jeweler that you can trust and that has integrity is most challenging. After years of being a customer and having a relationship with both Alan and Nasrin they feel more like family. I have peace of mind with every purchase and there have been many pieces purchased. I refer them to all of my friends and family. As it turns out I was customer of Alan’s about 20 years ago. Coincidentally I had purchased a diamond necklace from him when I was a teenager but didn’t recall until I was looking for it (to gift my daughter) when I came across the box right before my eyes was Alan’s contact information from his former location. Small world! If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable and professional jeweler who has withstood the test of time...
Read moreI took my diamond bracelet to get sized to my wrist since it was very loose. They had to have the bracelet welded for the custom fit. I wear the bracelet on occasion and within two months I had put the bracelet on and it fell off my wrist due to the area they had welded. Luckily I was at home on my couch, otherwise I could have lost my bracelet.
I called to see if they can have it fixed and they said yes. But I decided to go elsewhere because of the very first interaction my husband and I had with Alan was not pleasant, he was rude.
Nasrin was the person who was very helpful and nice which is the ONLY reason I am giving three stars. If it wasn’t for her great customer service I would...
