During a very trying time after never being late on a payment and almost completing 99.9% of my EXTENDED LEASE I found a better option for my family to move to with a bigger floor plan and wheelchair access. My lease was due to end Feb 12th. We came to the office right before Christmas to let on of the staff members know that we will be vacating the apartment on Jan 18th. We paid for all of Jan. Mind you this was before Christmas when we told them with the hopes they could find someone else or give us a break considering there were only 12 days left still unpaid from Jan 31st to Feb 12th.
During that time we thought they were trying to help us rent out apartment out and they mentioned they had an individual that that may be interested. I called and called the office thinking they would have an answer. They said they were calling and calling but no one was answering. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because of the holidays and so forth. But each time I kept calling I get the feeling they were not trying and basically didn't care. Many days later I call in AGAIN because they still not once have called me to let me know anything. Not to mention I went to the website and saw that my floor plan had about 4 to 5 available apartments ready to rent some on the 13th and 17th of Jan and 6th of Feb???? Well wouldn't my apartment be on there as available since I am leaving on Jan 18th???? When I spoke to the assistant manager he said the form that I signed and spoke to the rep and called about 18 times said that I was leaving on my exact lease end date. Basically confirming that did not give to you know what's about my situation after I had been a loyal client and dealt with numerous issues during my time here.
Quick Note: During my time here i witness multiple individuals digging through the trash bins and your personal belongings just to take items to store in their garages to sell.
I witnessed a guy and girls screaming at 3am drunk profanities which I had to personally interject.
I witnessed a man walking aimlessly mumbling F You! Ill kick your Fing A**! around kids which I again personally had to interject.
The same man pealing out in his fathers SAAB shouting curse words again.
My neighbors below us got a surround sound and had it turned up so loud that it was knocking pictures off the walls after 10pm. I called the office and they said they told them not to turn it up pass 10pm. It continued everyday after the office said they handled it for 4 straight days until I AGAIN had to interject.
I can go on and on but I think that's enough.
It's very sad that instead of really helping a valued customer they are in the rat race of now raising the rent for a complex that isn't that great and apartments that are very small in square footage and just getting new meat through the door. I would NEVER stay here and I urge others to look around the area. Lots of great options other than the Santa Rosa Apartments and The Irvine Company.
P.S. I told the manager I was not going to recommend Santa Rosa and that since they handled my situation with disrespect and false rhetoric that I would take to the internet to make sure my voice is heard.
Oh and one other thing this location is awful for noise. All you hear at night is loud engines racing all night and Police and Fire sirens.
I truly hopes this helps potential residence think twice about this...
Read moreBug Problems I lived in Santa Rosa for two years but relocated due to persistent cockroach infestations in my unit. Despite receiving pest control services two to three times, the issue persisted. I documented cockroaches in various areas, such as the living room, bedroom, inside lamps, kitchen, and cabinets. I had Art from the maintenance team come and go beyond to cover all the gaps in the kitchen, but unfortunately, the problem didn't go away. I was paying $3125 rent to have the cockroaches as roommates. My other neighbors in the townhome area did not have bug problems, so I assume it's more of an area problem.
Manager Mary S. Cook While the maintenance team is okay, the old appliances require frequent replacement requests. However, the most problematic aspect of my experience in Santa Rosa was undoubtedly the manager, Mary S. Cook. Her presence in the office became very unpleasant, making me go when she was off. (Yes, I have asked Deepak when she is off so I can avoid her). On one occasion, when I was locked out, I went to the office to ask for a spare key. Mary asked for an ID, which is the standard procedure to identify residents, and I understand. I didn't have it with me, so she confirmed my identity with the documents they had. She looked at the document ID and made sure I was that person. Great! Then, the attitude started. She questioned the absence of my ID and how I had driven to the office without it, subjecting me to unnecessary scrutiny and discomfort. Her accusatory tone and insinuations left me feeling very uncomfortable, as if I were a disobedient child who got detention from school or did something very wrong. She made me explain myself in that situation. I told her I don't usually lock my unit and that I have a camera at home, but somehow, I did that day and got locked out; she responded dismissively, insinuating that I was intentionally facilitating unauthorized entry into my unit. Excuse me???? Are you here to provide assistance or create discomfort and judge me? Just say you can't help and it is over. Despite holding the title of "Manager," she struggles to manage her behavior and attitude. There are other complaints about her disrespectful behavior in the reviews, and my neighbors have also encountered issues with her. While she may get tasks done, which Irvine Company prioritizes, ignoring addressing the root issues and contributing to its negative reputation is what the Irvine Company actually does.
Assistant Manager Deepak Handa Following the incident, I promptly emailed Deepak, the other manager, detailing what had occurred. I inquired about her off days to avoid encountering her in the office again. He apologized for her behavior and made me feel valued. I want to give thanks to Sasha & George, and Deepak, an exceptional manager who cares about residents and is willing to solve problems efficiently and kindly. He is not a boss but a...
Read moreWe lived at Santa Rosa for more than six years with rent going up every year. We are fine with that but’s there are better options with the nearby condos and lower fees. It started out more kid friendly when they had the game room and snacks for movie nights. The maintenance guys are quick with the repairs because they break down a lot. The location would be better if the school was great. It’s not. Plaza Vista is a transitional school and overrated. Kids come and go without continuity. The new carpet starts showing its wear and tear after the third year. We had to buy rugs to cover the edges to avoid stepping on little nails. We were charged extra for paint and “heavy duty” cleaning after the move out. What do you expect the wall paint to look like after seven years of living there with kids? We didn’t want to vacuum the mouse dropping in fear of spreading it all over the air. We found at least four mice during our stay. The first one came through the microwave vent. Yes, I kid you not. We had to beg the maintenance guy to cover the roof vent to avoid future incidents. There were at least three mice coming through the fireplace. Again, we asked them to cover the rooftop vent to the fireplace. I sealed the gap in the fireplace with silver tape but they chewed right through. It took the maintenance guys/roofer months to block the rooftop vents. They are great at maintenance and repair because it’s their only job but I had to give them some directions and preventive tips. The rest of the mice came from the outside. Tip: keep your door closed, especially at night. You will see packs of mice running down the hallway after 10 p.m. Solution: cut the tree branches more often and cover up the vents and check monthly. I hope they realize how much mice we had by all the mouse poo-poo after all the furniture were moved out. We had the parking Nazi across the street. He doesn’t want anyone to park there. It’s not your own private parking, dude. We unknowingly parked there a few times and as a result, my Prius and Camry were keyed with a nasty white supremacy note left on the windshield. We suspect it’s the guy walking around the neighborhood with a tank-top and a daughter walking her pitbull. Our cars were finger-written on the dirty windows with KKK and other obscene gestures. This apartment wasn’t as bad when we first moved in. It’s now going in the wrong direction. We moved to the nearby condo where the owner covers the trash and water fees and the rent is $350 cheaper per month. Fridge and washer/dryer included and...
