Inconsistent evaluations from varying instructors, criteria for advancement to next level is subjective, poor to no feedback! They put my daughter through an emotional roller coaster ride, first relegating her with little to no observation to lesser level in her class, probably due to her size, keeping her from advancement. Next instructor praised her saying she's ready for next level immediately and used her as an model example to other students, then passed her to next level. Current instructor demoted my daughter to previous level in under 5 minutes of first class with little observation if any. This is a negative experience, instructors don't have the same standards, I would withdraw my daughters but they won't fully refund fees only at 50%. Parking horrible, had to walk 4 long blocks to park in residential neighborhood due to events at Aquatic Center, also parking any afternoon difficult even with no events, poor planning and civil...
Read moreThe city of Irvine owns the facility. It offers group swimming lessons and private lessons. I found the private lessons to be more attractive and efficient for my daughter, especially when she just started learning different styles of swimming and trying to increase swimming distance. Also, the pricing for the private lesson is reasonable. Group lesson could be not efficient from time to time due to too many little children in the group, and the instructors are too busy to provide instructions to each child. The group lesson size could be between 4-7 children, I believe. I enrolled my daughter in two lessons usually. One of 25 or 40 minutes group lessons and one 25 minutes private lesson twice a week. Her swimming has improved a lot over last year. They have many caring...
