As of July 1, 2025, the City of Irvine has transitioned out of the OC Public Libraries (OCPL) system. Looks like I am the first one to post review for the NEW Irvine Public Library reopened couple days ago.
Newer - modern more renewed version. They have printouts for $0.15 b&w and $.050 color. They just set up - as of Saturday August 9th , 2025 - card didn’t work for print out , we had to do cash. Vast collection on books , airy , spacious and one of the largest libraries in Orange county. However, staff? Eh- we know the kindness and warmth that OCPL Laguna Hills Technology center offers and it’s not matched in all honesty. However, Location and ambience is unmatched. They have rooms and also Outdoor patio facing the lake - so serene 🥰 Plenty of parking- however on Weekends their are other events at the civic center so it’s tough to find one. We look forward to getting to know this place and people better. The card works at both university park and heritage park. They have free events every month for teens, adults and children- and have pumpkin spice lip balm and scrub making coming soon end of August ! Hope that...
Read moreWe lived in the Greater Seattle area and moved to Irvine some months ago. We decided to apply for library cards for my kids. The only thing we don’t like is that every time when we want to borrow new books and the borrowing limit is maxed out, we need to ask staff to scan books to return them first. It is very inconvenient, but staff loves to help. We prefer to do it by ourselves.
Advice to OCPL: Why not follow the King County Library System (KCLS) in the Greater Seattle Area where they implemented RFID technology long time ago? People can return books in person by themselves in the kiosk directly. It will save a...

Heritage has a unique charm as its a sweet little library surrounded by a lake, playground and a fire station that seam like a guard tower to a magical kingdom. The lake is where many go to just enjoy a nice picnic of walk amongst the natural scenery while the kids go to play but the library is my favorite area as the book selection is the best in southern California of like me, you enjoy a good novel with deep characters that you feel you are traveling with throughout the story. My most precious memories are sitting at the lake and reading a newly barrowed...
