Irvington Park — Attraction in Irvington

THIS PARK IS HORRIBLE IT IS DISGUSTING. MY FAMILY ATTENDS SOCCER GAMES AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY POTA POTTIES AVAILABLE AND GUYS ARE PISSING ALL OVEWR THE TREES IN THE PARK AND THERE ARE KIDS AND WOMEN IN THE PARK ALL DAY. COPS GAVE A TICKET TO SOME GUY THIS WEEKEND BUT THERE IS NO PLACE TO URINATE IN THE PARK NEAR THE SOCCERE FIELD. THE AREA IS NOT A SAFE AREA TO GO AND LOOK FOR A BATHROOM SO I DON'T BLAME PEOPLE THAT ARE PEEING IN THE TREES BECAUSE A TICKET IS SAFER THAN GETTING ROBBED OR WORSE IN THAT AREA. WERE 2 FAMILIES ALREADY GOT ROBBED 2 WEEKS AGO.. I HAVE CALLED THE PARK AND LEFT 5 MESSAGES AND NOBODY RETUERNS A CALL YET AND IT HASD BEEN 3 WEEKS THAT SEVERAL FAMILIES HAVE CALLED AND NOBODY GETS A CALL BACK. I ONLY GAVE IT ONE STAR BECAUSE IT WOULDNT ALLOW ME TO POST UNLESS I...

I used to love to either sit by the water and relax or think, or sit in my car parked by the water. That changed earlier in February 2020 when a young guy approx early 20's tried to r*pe me & possibly kidnap me while I was sitting in the park. He nor his friend, who waited nearby, didn't realize I had a car which was parked directly by the park entrance and I was able unlock my car door with my key fob & ran to my car! He ran off and his friend (and older man approx 40+/50 ish ran in another direction! Irvington police had appeared making their rounds by the park and I immediately flagged a police vehicle down! The officer raced in the direction that the younger guy ran in. Now if I do ride past to get a glimpse of the beautiful water & it's fountain, I NEVER get out...

I love this park... It has overgone some beautiful changes over the years yet my last visit kinda left me in dismay. Im not sure about the walking trail, fountain area but there was trash all over the playground area. It clearly hasnt been cleaned in some time which is unfortunate BC its such a great little park with so much for the children to engage with. I understand we are still working through Covid but please get someone out there to clean the park up for our kids, its been totally neglected out there; cant get to a swing or slide without stepping over trash and the children...
