I am writing this as an unbiased customer from my first experience with Furniture Plus.
January my girlfriend and I were furnishing our first apartment and came to this location off of a friend's recommendation. We decided to not go with this business because the numbers they gave us did not add up when you looked at the price tags in the furniture in their own store. They were going to charge an extra $500 for a "bundle" deal on the bedroom, kitchen, and living room. We had no hard feelings but went elsewhere.
We recently came back for a new bedroom set. When we first walked in the salesman that helped us in January, a larger man with balding hair, gave us an odd look and said "Oh it's you again.." and directed us immediately to another salesman.
We dealt directly with Paul Smith during our process. At first he was very accommodating and friendly. We found a bedset quickly and we were initially satisfied with our experience. We were told the furniture would be picked up the following day, it was a Saturday when we made our purchase, and delivered the following Saturday after being told it'd be delivered Thursday and get a call Tuesday prior. Tuesday came and no contact whatsoever. I called the business and was told that we were not on the delivery list. Paul was not there but they'd leave a message to give me a call back. I called back Tuesday, Wednesday and finally Thursday I spoke to Paul and he claimed he never told me that it'd be delivered that Thursday.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt saying it must be miscommunication and asked when would the furniture be delivered. Paul then told me the delivery guys would pick up the furniture Thursday and deliver what ever day I'd like. So I asked for the furniture to be delivered Saturday. Paul also informed me the bedframe had damage and would be delivered at a later date than the scheduled Saturday.
So Saturday comes and the delivery was scheduled from 4-8 PM. Not only did i recieve the furniture late, they arrived around 9:45 PM but the furniture also had scratches. I understand little things but to pay a decent amount of money for new furniture I expect to be the first person to scratch it. The movers also broke the mirror before they could deliver the furniture so I had to wait another week. I finally received all of my furniture 2 1/2 weeks after the initial purchase. The second time the movers came to bring my furniture I scheduled the delivery to be from 11-4 to avoid having to stay in all night. Well yet again the movers were late and I ended up staying home until 6:30 PM after calling the business twice to find out where the movers were.
After the business had my money they showed zero regard for communication or customer satisfaction. I understand things happen but this was just extremely poor ethical behavior on behalf of the business. I literally will never recommend this business to...

Here's the details: my fiance and I went looking for a new mattress on this past Saturday. Found a great deal on the mattress. Paid cash that day for it to be delivered on Thursday 3/22. While there we decided to find a new couch. The salesman wasn't pushy at all which was awesome. However, he also lied to us. We found a couch that was somewhat reasonable but we were willing to finance it. The man stated he could have it delivered on Thursday as well and that they had 1 in the warehouse in stock. So we decided to do it. Thursday came and everything was wrong. We got the wrong mattress and the wrong couch! The delivery guys came back to my house at 9:30 that night to pick up the couch. 9:30 at night what's wrong with you people? They had the right couch on the truck but refused to bring it in at that time. They did let us keep the wrong one for the night. So Friday 3/23: got a call at 9:15am that they would be to my house soon. Finally showed up at around 1:00pm. They brought in the "new" couch first. While bringing it in they poked a hole in my door! I took pictures and called the store. I went down there 30 minutes after the incident. They never apologized for it. Did tell me to get up with the landlord to see what he says. I, like most people, had to pay a security deposit that now won't be refunded unless the door is replaced! While there I noticed that the "new" couch I just received was actually the floor model. 900.00 for a floor model couch is insane it's not new. My fiancee went down there and the salesman was very rude to her. Then I called him asking for a discount since it was the floor model. He said he can't do that, I then said I use to work for a furniture store and know for a fact that floor models are sold at a very high discount. Of course, he changed subject then saying he could order a new one that would take a month to come in. But would have to pick this one up when they delivery the correct mattress next Thursday. How us this right. We are willing to keep this one but not for 900.00. Actual value on it from the manufacturer is only 569.00 brand NEW! Insane, will never do...

Delivery a distaster and still waiting months for a piece to be replaced most likely damaged on delivery. Promises broken again and again. Very disgusted and at their mercy because I paid in full. If you value your dollar and your time please go somewhere else for your furniture.
This has been a complete horrible experience. Shame on me for buying in full from this company when I bought my sectional. On initial delivery I directed the men away from fire ants piles often found here in the south. “No problem ma’am”. As I looked out the door my piece was sitting directly on top of the fire ant pile where I had to run out and brush them off. After sitting on the couch I looked at the ottoman and it was deflated not as advertised in the showroom. Also the arm of my chase had a perfectly broke arm rest. These were things I couldn’t ignore paying thousands for a specific piece. I went to the store and reported the pieces because I paid extra for the warranty. Months passed, no word. Then when I called they asked if anyone came out to look at my furniture. Nope. Pictures were sent, no one came out to my house, no call updating me on progress. Finally after calling again, myself, I hear the pieces will be in by the end of February. While I was out of the country I get a message they had arrived and for me to call for a delivery time. I get in town on a Sunday having to work Monday. I get a call Monday morning from the delivery guys saying they are half an hour out from my house. Excuse me? I’m working and I haven’t called to arrange delivery. I rescheduled myself the next day, missing kids functions, and waiting for my 4-8p delivery time. Called at 6p, still on for delivery. Have my furniture apart so it would be a quick turn around…. Wait. Wait. Wait. Call again at 7:55p to follow up. “I’m sorry ma’am our guys are stuck out of town”. I rearrange my schedule to fix a problem you created only to still not receive my furniture. As a long time local, I will refuse and suggest anyone to buy from this company.
