SouthEast Asian Market — Local services in Jacksonville

I love this market. They might look small, but they have lots of products so i dont have to drive to Beach Blvd. Their produce have a good variety and very fresh, they offer meat cuts that American markets dont have too. They have sugarcane juice too. I go to several asian markets in Jax and this market has lower prices than the other ones for certain items surprisingly. If i need something and they dont have it, they will tell me when they stock it again so i can come back. Some veggies arent labeled so if you’re not sure, bring a photo. This place is family run so they re always around and stocking shelves, cleaning up. If i need help i ll ask them and give them a few minutes. They never let me wait long. It’s laughable when a review from a non asian person said this place doesnt any uniquely asian products lmaoo my asian friends, family and coworkers all shop here idk what they’re talking about. I’ve been a few times to this market to get kimchi and tamarind and fresh produce. Also got some chestnuts the 1st time I went. Being all excited for the chestnuts, every one of them was dried out and rotten. I knew I was out the $4 on that one because of the language barrier and wasn’t worth trying to explain what the deal was. I went this past week for a couple things and I had to get the young girls attention to ring me up so I can go(she was busy playing on her phone) Man! I think she wanted to be anywhere but there. I said hi how are you? Nothing. Then time for my change back, no smile no thank you! I was like really??? So much for supporting local businesses because I’m not going back...

When we asked for help, I was told by two staff members that they couldn't help me. But they continued to follow my boyfriend and I around the store to watch what we were doing. We just moved to the area and we were trying to see if they had products that we used to by an an Asian market in NC. Instead of being helpful, we were treated as if we were stealing. A watchful eye was kept on us, but they couldn't help us for some reason. No one smiles , no one says hello, I was really put off by everyone's attitude.
