I really enjoy this place. Its situated in a desolate strip mall across from a trailer park. The food is very authentic. I simply cannot find Menudo soup very often and they do it very well. Its been about 5 years I have been coming here. Not very often, however, when I walk in, the waitress simply looks at me and asks "Menudo, Diet Coke?" and I nod and that's its. The place is usually full of Hispanic men in high visibility clothing. There is a Juke box which may become the bane of your existence because they will crank loud music out of it. There is Soccer on the TV in Spanish and never has there been anything else. The salsa is always really fresh. You can taste individual ingredients. They have the rare "Chelada" or "Chevala" beer where they mix in clamato or V8 and beer with some other ingredients. Really a good eat. Never had any issues with attitudes or drunk people or crime right outside. I think its a diamond in the rough.

This experience was below average. I ordered the carne asada with shrimp. The shrimp was good, however the carne asada was dry and was hard to chew, similar to that of beef jerky. Also, I did not even touch the corn tortillas since they had a dried fish smell. The rice and beans were good. The service was slow, but to give the benefit of the doubt they were busy. The waitress did come up to check up on me to make sure everything was fine though which is part of good service. The atmosphere was also great, the music seemed to add a vibe. Also the food did taste fresh, just was kinda overcooked There is one last thing I want to mention is that server added a sprite onto my bill while I had a water. I do not know if it was intentional or not. However, I do believe it was an accident

We decided to try this place on Cinco de Mayo so we were prepared for a wait. We were seated immediately and had salsa and chips right away. The salsa was super watery. My bf said it was like water with hints of tomato and chunks. The queso was better. My bf had a few Maltas. I wanted sangria (on the menu) but was informed they didn’t have any. I got the California burrito without tomato sauce and pico de Gallo. I had shredded chicken as my meat. It was good. Nothing special. My bf got carnitas tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro and cheese. They give you a TON of cilantro if you cant tell from the pictures. He said it was ok but wasn’t what he was expecting. Overall it was an ok meal. Nothing to write home about. The servers were busting their butts though.

Giving it a star is doing too much... i will never come to this place again and i hope i can stop people from going in there... their so called “Carne Asada” which is grilled steak was a super thin chuck steak that goes for like $4/lb but they sold me that plate for $16.99 was burnt they overkilled it with that well done and i guess well burnt done is the only way they cook steak... apart of the horrible food that me and my coworkers had to endure lets not forget the customer service... the waitress at first she acted like she followed the guidelines that everyone needs to wear a mask so she told my coworkers to wear theirs masks... after getting our masks we got seated and since we are new and dont know the place well another group of people came in without their masks and she sat them down and didnt ask them for a mask she started serving them instead... she tried her best to be a good server by getting us some refill we obliged but she took our cups and brought the same cups back again not following the guidelines imposed by the goverment... overall if you want bad food bad service and i guess some burnt steak this is your place throw in some coronavirus too to...

We were greeted promptly and seated with a smile. One server took our drink order immediately, then another came over about 2 min later to take our food order. We informed him it was our 1st time visiting and he said since we are new to their restaurant we could have a free guacamole or cheese dip. We thanked him and got the cheese dip. The salsa was very good, chips were a bit thick for my liking (I'm not big on the chips at any place). Our order was taken, and the food came out quickly. I had pastor and carnitas tacos and they were served authentic style with cilantro and onions. My husband ordered carnitas plate, which had beans and rice (they don't have black beans...bummer). The pastor was very good, tender and seasoned well. The carnitas was a bit dry and the flavor was minimal. The service was great and we happened to be here on karoke night, that was entertaining. We will definitely come back, the pastor is worth coming back! Give this place a try if you like a more authentic...

This place is awesome!! Had family in town to visit for Mother's Day and after looking for an authentic place for Mexican food, we chose El Tapatio. We were so glad we did. We ordered some beers and my sister and I (having kids) were given a free beer, along with a beautiful red rose, and also a free delicious dessert. We were very surprised with how friendly the waitresses were and how catering they were to our table.

Now for the food. The best part! We ordered a good amount of different things to try and they were all amazing! The meat had so much flavor, and anything we needed we were given very quickly. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa is delicious and full of flavor with a hint of spice. The red sauce that is brought to the table with food is AMAZING and spicy! Paired perfectly with our food! The portion sizes were huge for the price as well.

My family can't wait to visit again just to come back to this restaurant. It is hidden but...
