First let me say I love that H/D ships a lot of stuff for free!! Their competitor Does Not! Prices are competitive and u get what u ordered. Way to go H/D! Now, why 3 stars... In the past couple of months, I have ordered a Lot via free shipping, but it DOESNT get here anywhere near next day or even 2 day. 2/3 of my orders have been 3+ days late!!!!!!!!!! I order delivery from several places and not even wlmt has delays like that!! Stop advertising next day when it takes 3-5 days, or more, to get to my home. I will continue to order shipping when and as avail but I Will Not expect it on time!! Dont count on something getting to u for a surprise project in a timely manner!! It wont. My fence gate broke so my 2 pitbulls got out and roamed the streets-they r dogs-they wander. I ordered wire fence and several other things including the staples to attach the wire to poles. The wire got here on time-big Surprise, but the staples and other items arrived many days later-I cant hang the fence w/no staples to attch the fence to the poles! I had to put both dogs on a runner for which I had to find stuff to do that with and somewhere to attach the rope to=that made it hard for them to roam to use the bathroom. Also I had to get up and hook/unhook everytime & try to keep 1 dog in the house until I could hook the other up...then their leads got tangled and they totally disliked being restrained in their own backyard. Its really difficult at 9pm when its dark out and Im ready to go to bed. They have been here 7 years now so we r all used to them having free reign in the backyard. The issue appears to be mostly with smaller items-the larger pkgs get here in 1-3 days. Home Depot-tell the truth about delivery times, pick/pack on time & demand fedex to straighten up, or get another delivery svc. Its not all fedex but most of it is. I am disabled, elderly, live alone w/no 'help', very small in stature & quite weak so the delivery service is awesome-when it works right!!!!!!! Get it together H/D!! Please...... WOW-I called Southside bl for help and the lady was just nasty!! I am looking for chain link fence-I called the local store I usually deal with and asked to s/w someone in chain link fencing...In vary irritated and almost disgusted sounding reply She said 'We dont sell chain link fencing at this store...' Oh-I see it online-not at this store. Oh I c now it says regency..."Thats the regency store-Not Us!" I said that's one of the most ridiculous things Ive heard-U r a huge hardware store & dont sell chain link fence at this store..."Not At This Store." Fine" I said-and hung up. I called the main c/s # and the person who could connect me to 'Customer Care' said they need my name and phone number before they can transfer a call for a store complaint...WHAT!! The lady said she tried-I was on hold for a long time for something or nothgng?? and Customer care REFUSED to take the call w/o my full name and phone #-I said I am...and gave her my 1st name, the city and state, the store and she refused to transfer me!! NO ONE SHOULD EVER-EVER HAVE TO GIVE THAT INFORMATION IN ORDER TO JUST BE ABLE TO GET TO A "CUSTOMER CARE PERSON" FOR ANY REASON! So much for customer care...hum. If there were 0 stars, I would give it. This is infuriating and I will not deal with this establishment again. 2 out of 2 times trying to deal with H/D and this time it was both SS customer svc in jax and the main c/s wherever they r, & that is enuf. Im not playing baseball. Lowes is a bit higher on some things but they have always been nice on the phone... They r also close enuf I can do a pick up and avoid delivery fees. wow. just wow!! Wonder if anyone at this place realizes if u lose too many customers, u wont stay in...

Purchased an in-stock refrigerator Saturday 11/28 at 9021 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville FL. Paid $903.27 cash money and was told to expect the delivery as soon as possible for 32216 zip code/Tinseltown area--- Thursday 12/03. They said that that would be the soonest. They said to expect a phone call on Wednesday from the delivery vendor, 12/02 to tell us what 4-hour window they would deliver the appliance within on Thursday,12/03. The delivery team hadn't called us by Wednesday afternoon, so we called Home Depot at the 800# on our paperwork on Wednesday at 3pm they said "call us back after 5pm." So we waited and called back after 5pm and then they said "call back after 7pm we'll definitely know then." We called back after 7pm and learned that our refrigerator did not get loaded on the truck for Thursday delivery (!) and that now the earliest we MIGHT receive it would be Saturday,12/05. So, we said hey, since they haven't loaded Friday's truck yet, why wouldn't it be loaded first thing Friday,12/04? They couldn't explain why but said that that was impossible, the soonest it could be now was sometime Saturday, and that the delivery team would call us Friday to tell us what window to expect it Saturday. It was hard to know what the truth of the matter was at this point. A supervisor was supposed to call us back on Thursday, but he didn't. We needed a refrigerator now, not some indeterminate point in the future. So we went back to the Home Depot at 9021 Southside Blvd. to receive a refund of our cash money, so we could take the money to a store that can deliver a refrigerator sooner. The store manager said that since the appliance left the warehouse facility they cannot refund the full amount until they receive it back at the manufacturer. So now it is another 3-5 days and still we have no refrigerator and no money to get one that we could get in a timely manner. They only refunded the portion $171.20 that was the 5 year protection plan/&carry off fee---we have to wait another 3-5 M-F business days to get the balance of my cash-- $732.07. We called the corporate office customer service and they seemed to think we realistically wouldn't have had delivery of the refrigerator until 12/07(!) since it had been taking 7-10 days and that since we cancelled our order and paid in cash we should have been refunded the total amount of our cash purchase back at the store, but then called the store and the manager at the store convinced the customer service rep that is not correct and we still have to wait the 3-5 days, even though we didn't pay with a credit card. ** Home Depot, please, in a city of a million people, if it is really taking 7-10 business days to deliver a new refrigerator to someone's home, please tell people that on the sales floor so customers can have realistic expectations. Not everyone has infinite days off work to accept delivery of a refrigerator...
Terrible customer service. After speaking with two employees who referred me to the paint department because they were unsure of where the product I was looking for was, I waited at the paint department for over 15 minutes with other employees walking past me, one on his phone, the other looking right at me, continuing to just walk by like I was invisible. Finally, I went over to ask a lady I found if she could help me and VERY few people have spoken to me with more disrespect in my life than this woman. Condescending, couldn't let me finish a sentence without interrupting me, and not only talked down to me like a child but also acted like I was completely ridiculous for waiting and being ignored for over 15 minutes. Mind you, I was running an errand for my employer and didn't have time to waste. After explaining that all she offered was to scoff at me and say "okay well I can call someone if you calm down." Had I yelled? Raised my voice even slightly? No. I was obviously a little frustrated but did not express that towards her until being spoken to so rudely. They didn't have the product I was looking for, but when I left I called to let them know about my experience and the employee to answer sounded very unenthused to say the least, but what got me was when I asked to speak to a manager, he replied with an annoyed sounding "uhhhh, I guess I can go find one." Seriously? Who speaks to anybody like that? The lady I ended up speaking with that was the manager was very kind and apologized and said she would address the issue. So Shirley, thank you. You are the only reason this place even gets 1 star. As for the rest of their staffing, Home Depot either needs to do a mass firing and start over or offer a class to their associates on how to talk to people 'cause...
