JD's Lunchbox — Local services in Janesville

Update! I went to JD's again this week and had the opportunity to try the meatball sub! Very good. And very large! Great sauce and if you want to kick it up a bit, add onions and hot sport peppers. You'll be happy. Come support this business!

First visit:

I tried JD's for the first time today and loved it. I had one Italian Beef with hot peppers and mozzarella, and one Chicago Dog. Both were great!

The Italian Beef was seasoned really well with the au jous and the bun was soft, but sturdy enough to stand up to the wet Beef. Fantastic sandwich and definitely the best IB you're going to find in Janesville!

The Chicago Dog was awesome. This is NOT your regular sized dog! This is an all Beef jumbo dog with all the traditional ingredients for a Chicago Dog. One thing that is different than a lot of other dogs is the bun. He doesn't use a poppy seed bun. I found this to be a benefit. He sprinkles the poppy seeds and celery salt directly on the dog and other ingredients. This is nice because they stay on the sandwich instead of flaking off like they do on a bun.

I went to his brick and mortar location on Center. The rest of the time, he takes his Stand on the road to different locations and events.

This food is great and JD is a great human being. He's really interested in bettering his community and serving quality food!

After finishing up a client's house, I snagged a chili cheese dog from JD’s LUNCHBOX so good his all-beef hotdogs are massive. His drinks are icy cold. His work ethic is something to admire. He's at Monday night Church Softball at Dawson Field. Come grab a Dog from a cool human. He said he comes from Chicago and is known for his Chicago dog. That will be my next taste. The chili had good flavor and wasn't crazy spicy. He was down the road from mocha moment today. Next to the big plane on the hill just go down the hill and you will see him. He was generous with the cheese I requested on the dog and no joke that bun was high quality you get a Big Bang for your buck. Much love from Big E, you sir have...

JD deserves more than 5 stars!! We originally found this somewhat hidden gem at the Janesville Farmers Market and fell in love. The only thing better than his truly unforgettable hotdogs/sandwiches is his kindness and amazing attitude! We then booked him for a party at our house and our expectations were far exceeded. Him and his wife, Dana, went above and beyond and truly made our event one that everyone will remember! SUPPORT JDs lunchbox at the market, his new restaurant, or or an event!!! I truly cannot say enough positive things about his food...
