A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Janesville

This A&W has a deeply rooted place in my history. I have been coming here since my teens. I am now 64. I haven’t been to the restaurant in a while so I dined there 3 times in the last couple weeks. Root beer still great but the food is mediocre at best. Doesn’t seem fresh or well prepared. I would say it’s not at the level of quality it’s been in the past. That’s tolerable and I would go back were it not for the atmosphere. The crew, one female server especially, is so loud she bellers-constantly! She yells at co-workers across the room. Then several of them get going and the volume is intolerable as they holler and laugh about their personal lives in total disrespect and disregard for the customer. A VERY unprofessional way of doing business. It’s louder than a bunch of drunks at a sports bar! It’s louder than pigs fighting! It’s been like this my last three visits. Today, my family and I just left because we couldn’t carry on a conversation due to the cacophony provided by the “bellow-er” and her cadre. I saw another patron unable to use the phone due to the noise. NOT a good place to eat and relax after work. They are not rude at the table when serving, just loud and obnoxious the rest of the time. I hope changes are made. I’d like to return someday. I talked to the counter attendant. She was unable to give me a phone number for a manager or owner. There was no advise given as whom I could contact. She took my number and commented that she had been employed there 3 years and had never experienced it as loud as it’s...

So. Kinda of a wierd thing that happened here. We went to order at the restaurant and take it to go. The younger guy working who had dark hair, average height brought the food out to us and then asked for payment, which is already weird because usually you pay first and then get your food. He then went inside and didn’t come back out for a few minutes later saying that the card didn’t work. We said that there were funds on the card and to try it again so they went back inside for another 5 to 10 minutes, came back out and told us and didn’t work again. we offered to run home and get cash because we literally live a block away. But At this point, we were told we can keep the food since we already had it. Then we got a message on the phone saying that there was fraud suspected on the card. we didn’t answer the text message because we didn’t notice it until after we got home and then we called the fraud number on the back of the card because the card no longer worked for anything else such as gas or any other food. When we called, they told us that they couldn’t reset it and the people that could were out for holiday will not be back till Tuesday and the reason was locked is because someone entered the pin number incorrectly more than three times which they told us happened at A&W restaurant. I eat here often and am a little disappointed as I’ve never had a bad experience until last night, Saturday 2/2/19. I walked in and I could hear rap music right as I entered. Literally every other word was the F Word! I’m not a prude but highly unprofessional and unacceptable for a restaurant. There were patrons in there and was about 730 pm. Two guys, a young girl and a mid 40’s aged woman were all working. When I stated something to the young girl she just laughed! As if that wasn’t bad enough they forgot to put Ranch in the bag so the guy threw it to the younger guy in the kitchen and he dropped it, he then picked it up off the nasty floor and put in on the counter in front of the older employee and she instead of asking for a new one put it in my bag with our food. When we got home I was livid, the ranch dressing I didn’t plan on using it anyways after that but had floor gunk and hairs on the top of the container. I ate here once a week spending over $35 each time, I doubt I’ll ever go back. If I could I’d give them -3 stars. Shame...
