This review pertains to a birthday party experience at the Fire Pitch.
Earlier this month, we held a birthday party for our son at the Fire Pitch. Considering the price of the party and the unforeseen circumstances with rain, our expectation was that we would have received much better and proactive service.
Among many reasons, here are 3 key reasons:
Because of the rain, the kids had to come to the party room early because of the rain. My wife and I had to scramble, go to the bar and find the party support person to get help. Our expectation was proactive support in having the indoor games setup (as indicated on the Fire Pitch website). Instead, we had to walk around to find the support person multiple times to ask for this and that. We had to find the support person and ask for foosball balls because the kids were asking where the foosball balls were. We asked about the other games, then the support person setup the cornhole and the videogame console. The support person was forthcoming that he prepared what was on the order form, which did not indicate games setup. So that was appreciated.
Additionally, the youth soccer coach came to the party room with the kids and provided 2 board games. However, some pieces seemed to be missing and kids did not know what to do with at least 1 of the board games. After about 5-minutes, the kids stopped playing board games. During this time, the support person was hurriedly setting up the cornhole and the videogame console.
Thirdly for $10 per kid, we were surprised with the 2 small slices of flat bread pizzas. Thatās about appetizer size.
We do want to acknowledge that the support person was very attentive when needed.
Fire Pitch did waive the room rental fee. But overall, we did not have a positive overall party experience for what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreone of the WORST, CROOKED, OVERPRICED, UNORGANIZED leagues in Chicago right now. Management needs a turn around. They overcharge for 40 min 8v8 games, making teams pay well over average cost compared to other leagues in the city. You think the cost being higher would make the quality better? No. Referees are atrocious. āCompetitiveā leagues are teams of frat bros.
I have had several games played at this establishment and remember two specific times where the game was called AWFULLY by a ref.
One game I expressed my opinion with the ref only to be disrespected and yellow red card by this same ref. Power trip is a little insane. Lastly the ref called over security since he wonāt have a conversation about the terrible game he called and also throws his little jabs in before they come on.
I am then harassed by the āso calledā league manager. He asked me to leave which I did but then he followed me along with someone else and continuously antagonized me. As im taking my cleats off, I told him to leave me alone which he didnāt and himself and his little buddy kept insulting me and being completely unprofessional. I asked him several times to leave me alone as I was leaving. The egos on these three 40 year old men (referee, manager, and assistant) individuals is utterly ridiculous. They couldnāt help themselves from choking on their own words when they talked to me. They even insulted the shirt I was wearing they were feeling so bold. This has never happened to me before in any game Iāve ever played and Iāve even received sportsmanship rewards in the past. These guys are corrupt.
All in all a joke of a league, especially with the status of Chicago Fire. Embarrassing. Do not play or pay for these stupidly expensive leagues, they are NOT HIGH LEVEL AND...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy team is playing at CIBC fire pitch on Fridays. Field and facility is ok, canāt say itās bad, however referees are probably the worst ones in Illinois. Facility claims they have one of the best refs around, but every team in our league would highly disagree. Our team is recording every game and I have to say that it happens that refs forget about result, so instead of 8-2, they say result was 7-2, etc. Most people would say, it doesnāt matter, but in competitive leagues goal difference really matters. When I sent the email with my concerns and providing evidence, because we do have highlights after every game, no one did anything. All we got was āWe will talk to refsā.
Another thing, there are two refs on 9vs9 games, and believe or not, one of players from team we played against got 2 yellow cards (1 from each ref during our game), and REFS FORGOT TO GIVE HIM RED CARD.
Refs do not care about your game. They donāt care whether they make a right choice or not. They act like they are forced to come here.
League cost $1900+tax and for that money we get nothing but a ball to play and field.
Think twice before joining and playing here. Make sure your money goes somewhere and is spent well.
I hope this review helps other teams who are considering...
