Waveland Bowl — Local services in Jefferson Township

Went there this past Sunday October 27th. My granddaughters 6th birthday party. We had 3 lanes. About 12 kids and 7 adults. I could hear some commotion behind me. A lady then came over asking if anyone had seen her blue iPhone she lost in the bathroom. I told her no, none of us had been to the bathroom. She then proceeded to get very loud and aggressive. Saying her phone was "pinging" in our area. Im an android user so I had to ask her to explain. Again telling her I don't how or why her phone was pinging nrsr id. But none of us had her phone. One of my daughter's came over asking what was wrong and if she wanted to call it too see if it would ring. She said it was on silent. She continued to get more loud and aggressive. I asked her to leave out area. The kids were looking alarmed. She finally walked off. My husband went to and told the manager what happened. About 15 minutes later the same lady returns. Standing behind our party. She gets started again with her aggressive behavior. My husband goes to get the manager AGAIN. He comes over and seems like he knows the lady in some ways. She starts hollering again about her phone and how she knows one of us has it. Someone starts announcing that they've found a phone if anyone has lost a phone. Come to the service desk. So we tell her they are calling you right now about your phone. The manager makes a disgusting remark to my husband about "acting like a man" my husband said I came to get you twice as a manger because the lady was being aggressive towards my wife!! The Lady got her phone. Mumbled sb apology and left. I would NEVER go back there for anything!! All that money for a birthday party and we were harassed for half of it. While the manager and employees did nothing!! Luckily the situation didn't escalate into...

We had a good time at Waveland bowling. I was skeptical after reading at least 30 of the reviews and was worried about the quality of the staff. The staff from the person on the phone to the front desk, shoes and security were all fine. The lanes were just fine, shoes comfortable and clean. Since it was Saturday night and cosmic bowling as expected there were flashing lights and loud music. I hadn’t expected the flashy sexy videos displayed above the alleys. We saw families, groups of young adult friends and parties of young kids and us two 67 year olds having a good time. The mark down from 5 stars to 4 is because of the somewhat intrusive wanding almost pat down from security. Not sure if this was over the top or not. Even though I must admit I liked the videos they were probably too risqué for the young ones in the crowd. AND the most disappointing thing there were NO pinball machines. This is one of the reasons we picked the place. I love to play pinball. Apparently they break down too easily it isn’t worth keeping them. Another note . The reason they don’t allow bumpers for anyone over 10 years is the force of the ball that someone older could throw could damage the bumper. I really loved this bowling alley until TODAY. I would normally go at least once a week but today I had a bad experience. Normally everyone is always friendly with great attitudes. Today I had a different experience I wanted to exchange my shoes red & black 8 to the brown shoes size 8 because going there often I completely dislike the red and black shoes 👎. I went to ask a young lady behind the desk can I exchange the red and black size 8 shoes for the brown shoes she was really rude and the first thing she did was lie and tell me that those was the only shoes they had completely because “they switch these shoes a lot” which is a lie because I go there every week and I know what they do and don’t have. In fact I went there last Monday and the older guy exchange my shoes with no problem. Then she told me that it was nothing that she could do with a nasty attitude. Today was the first day that I got a complete refund and left this establishment. Because it’s always how you communicate with someone I would’ve respected if she would have told me at this moment we only have the red and black size 8 would you like to size up or size down.
