How do you review perfection? I knew from the moment I heard the pleasant voice on the other end of the phone say âANYTIME FITNESS, THIS IS CHLOE!â that I had found my âforever gymâ.
Iâve lifted heavy objects at other gyms before, but never have I felt more at home than I do at this location. The facility is clean, the gym goers friendly, and the equipment is the latest and greatest the fitness world has to offer.
Everyday I swing by the âtimeâ I know Iâm in for a killer pump, a hefty sweat, and maybe even a few laughs along the way. Sometimes Iâll meet up with some of my friends and weâll just spend hours at the gym having fun and getting fit!
Now I know what youâre thinking, âI like that gym is 24-hours, but I fear that the staff wonât be responsive to my needs or questionsâ. Well Iâm here to tell you that your fears are misplaced.
This Anytime Fitness is run by some of the finest people this side of the Chicago river. The owner, Mike, is as friendly as they come. Heâs always responsive and walks with a smile on his face that says âHey, Iâm Mike, let me take you on a journey of fitness and health straight to nirvana.â He really runs a swell operation and keeps the gym in the tip top condition you found it in when you first signed up.
But what about the voice on the other end of the phone? Well thatâs Chloe!
Chloe is the gyms manager who runs the day to day operations. While at some gyms the manager might hide behind a closed door, at Anytime Fitness, Chloeâs door is always open.
Walk inside her office and youâre sure to find a charming smile on the face of a manager that just radiates positivity!
Chloe is always there to help you with all of your fitness goals, answers any questions, or just sit for a nice chat! In fact, on any given day youâre likely to see Chloe chatting it up with members for hours in her office. She really does make you feel like sheâs more than your gym manager, sheâs your friend! Stop by her office anytime (HaHa!) and talk her ear off! Chloeâs always looking to make new friends with her members!!
Well, if youâve made it this far into my review, I hope Iâve painted a sufficient image of just how wonderful this Anytime Fitness is. With great equipment, a great location, and even better people, itâs hard to...
Read moreReally cool gym, but members not so much.
I have seen at least a 50% of members not wearing masks at all (keep in mind that we are in the middle of a controlled reopening of businesses in the city of Chicago) and not caring to even respect adequate distancing from others. I stopped going to this location because of that. Yesterday, I got a text message from this gym to my phone stating that city officials indicated that wearing a mask was obligatory and that âif you donât wear a mask, you must not enter to the gymâ. I was very happy with this, and decided to give it a try again, but what I encountered was that, even though signs indicating that wearing a mask is obligatory were all around the place, still there was at least one person not wearing a mask at all - and he was with somebody who - according to their interaction - looked like a trainer from the gym. I am just disappointed, I feel that the ongoing situation is not being taken seriously and that situations like this are a slap in the face to all those who are doing their part to stop the spread of illness (even with something so simple as wearing a mask in a indoor space) I am aware that who is directly on fault here are the people and not necessarily the gym however that stops in the moment that the gym owners/trainers allow people to donât respect restrictions that are in place to protect the community. A lot of states and other countries are starting a second quarantine period, and thanks to actions as the described above, Chicago most likely will need to close again.
Wearing a mask is not a simple gym etiquette rule, it is a measure in place to protect the families of those around us. I donât want to put the health of my family at risk, so I donât think I would go again to this gym even though I really loved...
Read more2 stars because the place is clean, but thatâs where the positives end. Iâve never been to a gym where the fans are cranked up to full blast, directly over the machines, blowing at your head like youâre in a wind tunnel. Itâs not just uncomfortableâitâs actually harmful, especially during a workout when your body is heating up and youâre breathing heavy. Fast, cold air blasting your head like that can cause tension headaches, dizziness, and even mess with your breathing. Thereâs zero thought for member comfort or safety.
Worse, thereâs no way to contact anyone. The number goes straight to voicemail, nobody calls back, and thereâs never a staff member around to talk to. How are members supposed to voice concerns? Basic customer service is nonexistent.
Clean or not, if you ignore member safety and communication, thatâs a major red flag. Lower the fan speed, reposition them away from directly over the machines, and maybe have someone actually...
