Old Towne Grocery — Local services in Jeffersonville

I wish I could give it the finger instead of 1 star. The Asian Indian man followed me around the store. Everything in my cart rang up more at the register. I walked to the back with the Asian Indian to prove it. He was so gross. He was standing there coughing in his hand like we didn't just barely survive a pandemic. He coughed in his and touched my vegetables, I told him I didn't want it. He seemed mad about it. But I didn't know how to tell a grown man he shouldn't cough in his hand while handling other people's food. I was reminded why I only step foot in that store once every 3 or 4 years. But I will never go back after this time. Sad part is that dingy half empty funny smelling store is barely open. The last thing they need to do is follow people around making them feel unwanted. And he could see the whole store if he'd get rid of those dirty freezers that don't work. Or at least plug them in so ppl wouldn't have to hold their breath to...

Older place neighborhood place. Could use sprucing up, but even tho they have faced delivery issues of late..who ELSE would go to the competition to buy necessities eggs milk bread etc, to make sure their neighbors have them for many this is the closest place to shop period.

The store is updated. If downtown shoppers don't want to have to go to east Jeffersonville where the city is migrating, they need to support this business more. It's the only market for miles. They do their best to price fairly for their audience, but don't have the buying power of the big stores. People should realize that. All Jeffersonville wants to do is complain. They should be thankful we have this little grocery. No Trader Joe's Whole foods is going to spend the monies as the demographics won't support it. I went to the Cash saver on Tuesday 11/2/21. When we arrived the tall young man did not greet us, when we got to the check out he did not say hi, did not even tell the final total on our bill. He never said a word. I had to ask him how much our final bill was. The screen for us to see the running charges was not working. When we left , he did not say thank you, good bye or have a nice day. Never a word. This is unacceptable and if he is going to work with the public he needs training on how to wait on someone properly. That’s sad. when you have to be trained on how to talk to people properly, politely and professional. Secondly, I had to pay 3.59 for ground beef. I can get that at the Pic Pac for 1.99 a pound and sometimes lower. Most shelves a not even stocked, mainly empty. Get better...
