rather than leave a review online my plan was to email the restaurant directly. I went to their website and they do have an area on website where you can put your name and your email address and your phone number and you can write your comments but, and this seems ridiculous, there is no button to submit your comments or even just your name and contact information. So here's what I tried to write to them earlier today so was foiled by their own website ineptness.
Just wanted to write a short note directly to you, rather than leaving a negative review online, and express just a little bit of dissatisfaction. I've been to your restaurant probably a dozen times in the last year and I'm normally pretty satisfied and I feel like it's a good value for the money and I really do appreciate what goes into your menu items - including the quality of the food and the labor and creativity involved. Normally I'll get the Rachel, a burger or I'll get the trio of tacos. Today I brought three guest with me and they got large sandwiches with french fries. I am on the keto diet so I ordered the caesar salad with grilled chicken. I didn't think much of it - how different can a caesar salad be - I knew that it works with my diet and it's something I enjoy. I was shocked when I got my bill FOR LUNCH and found that I had paid roughly $20 for a caesar salad with grilled chicken and an iced tea. I will not be back if menu prices are going to be this ludicrous. I entertain a lot at restaurants and I travel a lot and I'm usually pretty frustrated when I'm presented with that type of price at an airport ... where they pretty much have you as a captive audience. I was in the food service business for almost a dozen years so I understand food cost. You caesar salad - by itself - is an $11 item. It is not a meal size salad by itself. Being generous, there may be $0.50 worth of lettuce and $0.50 worth of dressing and I do appreciate the small parmesan cheese waffles crackers and the two very small cross- section slices of baguettes. There may have even been anchovy in the dressing which is fantastic. But I will not stop for lunch and pay $20 for a Caesar salad with chicken and an iced tea. The gentlemen all around me had large meat sandwiches and fries and I know their food cost was much higher ... but their bills were much smaller. You charged me $11 for a small caesar AND $5 for a chicken breast. I pay $2/lbs for chicken breast at Meijer. Maybe you pay $3/lbs? This was a 5-6 oz breast ... at best. This may be the only item on your menu that is ridiculous but it IS ridiculous.
I can get a fantastic LT salad at Orange Clover - with feta, strawberries, almonds, sping mix, poppy seed dressing, and croutons for $8. You charge $11 for lettuce and dressing. Crazy! They charge $3 for a large chicken breast. You charge $5. Crazy!!
Of course, the answer is to eat somewhere else ... and maybe that's ok...

While in the Jeffersonville area for business, I was looking for a place to dine. I had just completed a gruelling workout at Bridge View Crossfit and was depleted of all nutrients. I needed to recharge. I asked one of my fellow Corssfitters where a good place was to eat in the area and they sent me to The Red Yeti. Off I went to the main strip, where you'll find shops and restaurants in the quaint downtown area. Please note that I drove around for an eternity to find parking. I should have just walked from my hotel which was about 7-8 minutes away. I made my way over to the Red Yeti which was quite busy with folks on the patio and lots of people inside ( a good sign ) and I saw well...a big Red Yeti outside. I made my way to the bar and sat down and looked through the menu. The Red Yeti is a Restaurant and a Pub which makes their own beer so I guess that makes a brewpub?
I sat at the bar and perused the menu. I liked the fact that the menu was simplistic, and had some classics and some southern food. My server helped me out and while I was deciding on dinner she made me a flight of house-made beers. Well here was my dilemma, I saw on the menu that they had a Kentucky brown, I hadn't had one in a long time so I thought maybe that's what I would have. I also noticed they had a fried chicken dish as well. Since I had just come from a CrossFit workout I thought "No way I can't have fried chicken". I had watched a couple of plates come out from the kitchen and noticed it wasn't a typical fried chicken dish. Its made with white boneless chicken breast, so after learning that I went ahead and ordered the refreshing Apple Walnut Salad with shrimp and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Boneless, skinless breast, bourbon & rosemary syrup, braised kale with bacon & onion and Weisenberger Mills Smoked Cheddar Grits.
Wow, That's all I can say, the salad was on point with fresh greens and fresh green apples, and the chicken was soft, tender, juicy and surprisingly not greasy. This was one heckuva meal, I finished every little last bite. Please note the chicken is bigger then it looks and 100% Protein, so it was very filling. The Red Yeti was very impressive, If you're ever in Jeffersonville or even across the river, put this place on your Foodie Map and...
Read moreMy wife and I had our rehearsal dinner here, reserving half the restaurant. While my initial impression was that the service was struggling, the team quickly adapted and made sure to keep glasses full and plates moving for a great evening. Admittedly our group may have been hard to wait on as we were moving from table to table, giving speeches, and taking pictures, but we were well served.
Chef Mike dealt with my in-laws, my wife and I from the beginning and we were offered choices for appetizers, main courses, and desserts. This allowed us to offer three appetizer options, three main course options, and one dessert. We were able to accommodate vegetarian friends easily and everyone seemed pleased with their meals. I personally enjoyed my meal greatly.
If I had to call attention to any issues with the evening, it was that no one on the team seemed to be paying special attention to the wedding party. I would have suspected that the wedding party would have had a server just for us, but the serving team divided and conquered. As a result, everyone was served but I did have to track down a server a couple times to make sure my wife-to-be and her parents had drinks throughout the evening.
The evening was affordable, the food was delicious, and while the team stumbled at the beginning (understandable with the rush of the crowd) the service was great. The manager and the chef both came out to speak with my wife's parents and thank them for choosing the Red Yeti and we were happy to have chosen them for the eve of our...
