Caven Point Field — Local services in Jersey City

Used to be a nice facility for the high schools and recreation. Great dimensions for baseball and not bad for football/soccer. Too bad it’s the only high school football field on city property and it’s in desperate need of a renovation, not just new paint on the football side bleachers.

While they finally got the one new scoreboard to work again, the other scoreboard broke down and was taken down. Still need new turf (esp after the last couple of storms turning a turf field into a swamp), straighter goalposts, renovated, if not new locker rooms with more than one toilet, replace the baseball side bleachers that’s been there since the 1990s, a new press box that coaches won’t feel like they’re going to fall through the roof, have bathroom facilities for the fans where they won’t think that the Penn Station bathrooms are cleaner, among...
