Number 1 Nails Salon — Local services in Jersey City

I've been going to this nail salon for the past I would say two years, primarily to get pedicure & manicures. I usually go to the same person. Well I recommended it to my sister & she turned around & recommended it to her assistant. The assistant went & about a week later she told us, she had gotten fungus on her big toe after going there for a pedicure! I was a little hesitant in believing that she acquired the fungus there! Well it happens that my sister went & the same thing happened to her she got fungus on the skin of her big toe! Well guess what I just noticed last week that both of my big toe nails are black & lifted I have a SERIOUS CASE OF FUNGUS ON BOTH TOES!!! I need to go to the DR. to have it treated IT"S THAT BAD! I'm loosing both nails! & to make it worse the manicurist new about it & was not honest enough to let me know! I know this because it's in an advance state! Terrible nail salon. I went in for a gel manicure because my usual nail salon is closed on Tuesdays. I have healthy and strong natural nails and the tech used a drill meant for acrylics on my natural nails to remove the old gel. The process was so painful and even now, I feel like my nails are tender and painful . This made my nails so weak and 5 of my nails broke off completely after just ONE WEEK. Also the application of the gel was so bad that the nail polish also peeled off on multiple nails within a few days. Additionally, the techs do not understand basic nail shapes and proceeded to file my nails into coffin shape when i just asked for square—minimizing my natural nail shape until they finally got it right. This salon is a hit or miss for me. It definitely depends on which technician you get, which is the same for most salons. I highly recommend Tony. He's The Best for a wonderful Mani + Pedi. Avoid at all costs the manager ( can remember his name but I believe he's the only other male who works in there). He does not listen to requests at all and does a horrible pedicure.
