I purchased an amazing piece of thick , rough cut black walnut from a nice man piney flats that was clearing trees on his property. I was beyond thrilled to find such a beautiful piece of wood for my mantle. I didn’t trust the task of squaring and planing it to just any as the walnut was a few hundred dollars and the custom brackets would add substantially more to the project. I contacted lumber and craft, took in the black walnut and for an extremely reasonable fee for planing I was given a gorgeous mantle piece back. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and given a tour of the selection they had to offer. The prices are more than reasonable ESPECIALLY considering what these big name brand stores are charging!
