I try to fix my own equipment when it isn’t too difficult. You know, things like the dryer drum belt, rollers or heating coils. One time, for the heating, I used YouTube to learn how to take it all apart, found the problem and wrote down the pat numbers I needed. When I took that in to the store the lady just turned around and took the parts off the shelf behind her and handed them to me. Very efficient.
I had a second trip to them for a different issue, the dryer was squeaking and needed either new rollers (quantity of four) or an idler pulley. At first the lady got all five pieces down and started writing up the ticket and pricing it out. They were also incredibly helpful by giving me advice on how to fix some mistakes that I made in my repair.
