Maurice is absolutely phenomenal!! It would be impossible to recommend him and his store more highly!! I have been working with Maurice for more than 30 years. My parents worked with him even longer (they began while he was still in high school.) My brother's family works with him. We have turned so many people onto Maurice. To call Maurice a woodworker or a 'furniture guy' would be a disservice to his skills. He is an artist. A true craftsman. He is unbelievably creative and his workmanship is of the highest caliber. It is meticulous. He can make anything out of wood. He thinks things through so fully that he is able to troubleshoot and correct things before they are a problem. For instance, he was making a custom fireplace mantle for us (see picture below) and had a conversation with our builder to discuss it. After looking at the plans, Maurice realized that the wall had to be altered in order for the mantle to fit. As drawn by the architect, the wall, although it had a fireplace, was not large enough to accommodate a mantle, let alone adhere to the fire code with respect to the setback. It was Maurice who caught the issue, (not the builder, not the architect), so it could be corrected before the mantle was constructed. Maurice built furniture for our first home, our second home, and now our new home. All of the most beautiful pieces we have are from Maurice. When people comment on something in our home, it is always a piece that Maurice has made for us. I can say, without hesitation, that our homes would not be nearly as pretty or inviting without our pieces from Maurice. They are unique and amazing. In most instances, they are one of a kind. With Maurice, you are only limited by your imagination. If you see something in his store that isn't the exact specifications you need or you wish it had a drawer or whatever it may be, Maurice can make it for you. In any color, in any finish, in any size. Do you have a picture of something you love? Maurice will help you bring it to life and make it work for your needs. There is simply nothing he can't do. He made us a bed out of antique columns. He made us a kitchen island using the bottom of a Romanian train car (see pictures below.) It was so gorgeous that our kitchen was chosen to be in a coffee table book about beautiful kitchens. He used old gates to support a 15-foot dining room table he made for us. He made a closet for my mom that was absolutely spectacular. And the list goes on and on. But most importantly, he is a gentleman. He has integrity, and he truly cares. He takes genuine pride in doing the absolute best job and would never settle for anything less. Maurice is a rare breed. Working with him will be the best decision you make...

Amazing and fun. I feel like I am a part of their family after two plus years of building a home and choosing pieces with them for furnishings and decor. It is stressful to build a home but more so when problems arise causing a year plus delay. I worked with the entire family to select items as simple as a sofa to a water pump lamp made by Maurice Sr. Looking through the showroom is like a treasure hunt and you never know what you will find in each little nook and cranny. Selecting an antique cart for a bath vanity or asking them to create that perfect finish for another was seamless. Natasja and the family welcomed my crazy rescue pets when I had to have them with me; she and Wendy worked with me tirelessly as I debated between looks and styles.
