Disclaimer: I'm basing my review on a single, not-so-stellar experience. I have only visited once, but I expect it won't be my last visit.
As having spent my college years working retail, I completely understand and sympathize with the employees of this place and I get what it's like to have a customer walk in 30 minutes before you close to start shopping. I was that customer. Granted, I drove an hour after work and my kids school and had every intention of spending in the neighborhood of $1000 on boots, but the employees made it obvious from the time I walked in that they closed at 6 pm and no one was stopping them from bailing out the door when 6 pm struck the clock. None of the 6 or so employees offered to come from behind the counter to assist me or my son and the "this store closes in 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes" countdown announcements on the over head made it obvious they were more interested in leaving than selling boots.
Not to say the employees were outwardly rude or anything less than what could be described as friendly.. they just had their priorities and those priorities didn't include me. It was really too bad for the company and for me really. I don't really care where I spend my money, but I had to go to two other stores to get the boots we were looking for. I ended up spending money at competitors and didn't end up buying a single pair of Justin's.
Having 3 huge buildings full of boots for sale, they certainly have no shortage of inventory. I have a couple pairs of Justin dress boots that I've had for many years and I expect I'm not done with Justin as a brand. I just have to remember that if I want to get treated as a valuable customer from this store, I have to go at a time that best suits...
Read moreMy husband purchased a pair of Justin composite toe work boots last spring/early summer. He put them on in the store and said they were the most comfortable boot he had put on. He only got about 6 months of wear before the inside just deteriorated on him. He was going through brand new socks like crazy because the chewed up interior and exposed toe was wearing holes, daily. Finally a hole wore through the sole of the boot. That was the final straw. He swore off Justin Boots. I contacted Justin and worked with their customer service on getting these boots checked out. They paid for the shipping of the boot back to their manufacturer. I didnt hear anything from them for a few weeks but today UPS dropped off a box. My husband opened and there was a brand new pair of Justin work boots. I am writing this, hoping others see it and to also say thank you. I hope other customers who may have a bad experience with the product itself give the company a chance to right the wrong. I also want to say thank you to Justin for standing by your product and ensuring that you have happy customers that are satisfied with the product they purchase. Boots are not expensive and should be made to last a while. So thank you Justin, if not for your product alone but rather you customer service and integrity to stand by your product, you just kept a long time...
Read moreMassive construction going on all around this store. Store clerks (except for one young gentleman in the seconds store- he gets five stars) have no idea what they carry.
I came to DFW from two hours away to finish up prom clothing for my son. I headed out to Justin with what I thought was plenty of time. Not so. Between traffic, road construction, and closed roads, instead of being there 45 min. before closing, it was going to be five min. No problem, I’ll call the store, describe the boot (including the name), and they can have it waiting at the counter. They were clueless. How can you spend all day, everyday around these boots and not know what you have? They passed me back and forth on the phone between the two stores. Needless to say, I walked into the wrong store, looked very quickly, and told the lady to call the other store- which I had talked to not five minutes before. The other store had locked their doors. I got an I’m sorry. Wow. When I worked at a western store, if a customer called and said I’ll be right there and I’m buying a pair of boots, you better believe I would tell my manager, and have at least three pair waiting there for her to choose from. No wonder people like to...
