Summary: Everything was really good.
Just in case you don't read any further, please note that there is an announcement that tells you which door to use. And when I was last there, it was winter, when darkness fell quite early, and I couldn't easily find my 'door' and there was seemingly no correlation with the signs in the parking lot
Details: My most recent experience was great. I'm all about the interactions, and the people who worked there were totally.., JUST RIGHT.
It can be a 'big' venue, and, is just so feel-good that NICE, down-to-earth, trusting people work there. It was really unexpected and very welcome.
Employee autonomy is so important when you're the client, and there wasn't any red tape. I would definitely go back for more.
Holiday/Winter Craft Show
The holiday craft show is another story. People, when findable are great, but oh, wow!
It can be struggle for me to find/refind someone's booth. If you're not familiar with Wings, it's difficult to know what you need to pay attention to to find your way back to... X
I haven't visited the craft show in years, but color coding would be helpful! Even give the vendors a colored dot to put on their business cards so they can help the person shopping know they're on the red level and that they're both 5, alternate even/odd like a street, and make sure clients understand how it works. Random chaos is okay, Ikea you're looking for a walking stick, but keep sending up at the...
Read moreI have always loved hockey, but have never lived in a region or town where I could go see a live game. My husband and I went with friends to see the K-Wings play on Veterans Appreciation Night. Even if we hadn't arrived early enough to get awesome commemorative ball caps, the experience still would have been insanely fun. The staff was beyond friendly, the seats great, the food and drinks (usually hugely overpriced and horrible quality) were all provided by local vendors and companies were excellent and reasonably priced. Inside the arena was clean and the view was great, even from our "cheap seats." The energy was electric, the game fantastic, and the K-Wings organization took time to recognize and honor multiple armed service veterans throughout the game...I thought the tributes were touching and was really glad to be a part of that night...and I was thrilled to see my very first hockey fist fight in person...it was as fantastic as I hoped. The parking was managed very well; we were able to get out quickly after the game without a huge wait, no bottlenecks of cars fighting to get out. It was truly a perfect first experience, and we will definitely go back again to see the K-Wings play. It was great to chant, cheer, to feel like...
Read moreThis place has zero concern for the safety of others. At the youth wrestling state championships that they hosted on March 25-27 of 2022 they only opened 2 doors for over 10 thousand people to enter. It was unseasonably cold and the staff stood inside and refused to open the doors while watching literal babies in car seats, elderly grandparents, coaches and young athletes (as young as 4) stand in the snow for over an hour. I realize, this isn't the event staff's entry level workers' fault. That is why I wanted to write on here in hopes of someone with some authority seeing this. The policies need to change. ASAP. Tickets were bought in advance and there are plenty of doors. Wrestlers and coaches should be allowed in before family and fans. You would never make your hockey team wait outside before their game. Disgusting behavior on the part of the entire leadership team at wings event center. My family has been to many tournaments and this has been the WORST venue I've ever been to.
It is now one year later! Yet again, at the state championships, families were forced to stand outside and wait in sub freezing weather. Do better wings event center! This is...
