I walked in to check out a few different types of guns and ask questions on them. I was able to look and hold over five different handguns and two ARs having a full-long conversation not slurring my words, not doing anything out of the ordinary and by the time I made a decision and wanted to start doing the paperwork. I've touched and held onto these guns several times and for several minutes each gun. The gentleman behind the counter yelled and I mean yelled to the point where half the store at snappy's heard him say that which the store is pretty big size. The gentleman or I shouldn't even call him a gentleman cuz he wasn't one. He was rude and disrespectful. He yelled out so everybody could hear it that I can no longer help you because it seems like you are on the influence of something. Well. If I was on the influence of something, why would you let me handle any firearm to begin with? I had a relative pass away my little brother at 16 years old got hit by a dump truck while he was on his motorcycle. This happened yesterday morning the day before I showed up today. I have been in tears non stop and trying to keep my mind occupied and my emotions under control, So obviously I didn't sleep very well last night and this gentleman had the audacity to yell I was under the influence instead of asking me if there was anything wrong because you could clearly see I was upset How disrespectful and rude this so-called professional was not a professional at all. He was a young guy in the back working in the gun department that was playing a power trip. Specially when you say that out loud as clear as day to wear half the store can hear you say oh, you're on some type of substance or alcohol or drugs or something instead of being a professional and pulling you aside and asking. No, he used his little power trip to say that to try to embarrass me which it was embarrassing. I'm sorry this gentleman might not have a...
Read moreIn August of 2011 we purchased a rifle from Snappy's, patiently waited for it to come in and once we were out in the woods we discovered that it wouldn't cycle the ammunition. Frustrated beyond all belief we were given no option but to send the rifle in to the manufacturer...so stupid stupid us...we bought the other gun that my husband wanted. This was a different brand and totally unrelated to the first gun but also brand new...and it happened again! When we took the gun back to Snappy's the man at the gun counter offered to make it right by doing...NOTHING!
He did nothing more than to shrug his shoulders and tell us there was nothing that could be done...no store credit, not discount on a different gun...not one dang thing! We explained that this wasn't the level of customer service that we had known there before and again he shrugged his shoulders.
We weren't expecting them to move heaven and earth, really we weren't but something...but had they done anything at all I wouldn't be here writing about them, trying to warn people.
Needless to say we will never be back to Snappy's, not for gun, clothes, supplies of any kind...EVER!
This is truly a BUYER BEWARE...
Read moreThe combo of the prices, gear available, and most of all the knowledge and friendly customer service makes them the Best fishing department in our valley. Great gun department that can help you find what you need or just want. Great selection on hiking or outdoor shoes and boots. We have also bought kayaks and a paddle board here. They had the price range we were looking for and quality brands that we have enjoyed for years. We are able to find the camping or backpacking gear we need downstairs at prices that allow us to enjoy it. If your just passing through or just want to kill some time you have to check out the upstairs art and animal mounts. Some beautiful stuff there. And last but not least. You have to stop in to show the kids (or just sit and enjoy yourself) the fish pond out back. Get a hand full of food and watch the trout pond erupt. Throw some food toward the under water viewing glass to see them swimming up close. With our valley changing so quickly and big box stores taking over snappys gives you that home town sports shop feel but still has a large selection to take...
