So don't normally give reviews unless the service is super great or super bad. This morning at my favorite Price Chopper the service I received in the hot breakfast area, left me feeling like I should find a new favorite Price Chopper. When I get there who I later find out is the cook, was talking to what appeared to be a customer eating their breakfast, after she finished speaking to him, she goes to the back. My thought is she would be coming around the back counter to take my order. That was not what happened. When it was obvious she was not coming out, I walked down to another worker that appeared to be getting items put in for the day. When I asked her if, someone could come and that my order, she appeared to be a little bit annoyed. She did venture over to take my order and while I was giving my order several other customers came I to order breakfast. I had moved to the side of the counter, while waiting for my order. After a few minutes, looked up from my phone and asked the worker behind the counter if she could wrap my breakfast when it ready. She then said I what felt like to me and attitude, When its ready. I just stood there thinking, did she have to say it that way. I initially, I was going to stop by customer service to complain, but since I didn't see a visible name tag on the lady that took my order. I decided to write a review I stead. Although, for the past week I've been going to get breakfast there, I'm not too sure I'll be doing that...
Read moreThey follow people in the store and stand right behind them as they shop😕!! Next time I'm going to take a picture of them standing there😳 right behind me 🧐👀!!! This employee literally stood right behind me actually scared me when I turned around and was startled to find him just standing there staring I thought I was in the way until I looked and saw he had nothing in his hand he was just standing there👀👀👀👀!! MEAT Department watching my * literally 😳 😲!! Very uncomfortable 😣!!! MOLDED CHEESE!!! And I called up here they said I could bring it up and get my money back . When I came up here I was told I needed to go back out to my car and bring in the moldy cheese and I was hassled about a receipt! Finally another associate stepped in. Shouldn't have to go through when they sold that bad cheese. Since they wanted me to make sure that I went back out to the car in the cold to bring in the bag of cheese here's a pic of the molded cheese. So the mold doesn't sit at the top so you got a dump part of the bag in your dinner then you'll find the mold sitting somewhere in the middle! I advised you should always put your cheese and a separate bowl and look at it first before you put it on your food. So you don't waste half of your dinner like I did. Oh and look what I found in my ground 🍖 😔 plastic😩so where is the rest...
Read moreIf a grocery store doesn’t want you to know whether their meat is fresh, it’s probably best not to buy their meat.
I visited Price Chopper this morning, seeking a specific kind of sausage. Unfortunately for them and me, I care about when my meat expires.
I looked at the packaging and couldn’t find an expiration date. That seemed odd to me, so I went and found a man stocking meats. We had the following dialogue:
Me: Excuse me, I’m having trouble finding the expiration date on this sausage; can you help me? Employee: We don’t have expiration dates on those. Me (baffled by the lack of any effort to be helpful): Well, someone here must know when the meat goes bad. Employee: The Johnsonville sausages have Julian date codes on them. Me: These are not Julian date codes. Employee: Those came out of the freezer last night, so they’re good.
By this point, only blind faith would have allowed me to believe, so I put the sausage back into its place, and I left to do my entire grocery run at another store that doesn’t mind me knowing whether their meats are fresh or spoiled.
Price Chopper has made the calculation that people are more likely to buy their meats if they don’t know when they expire. What does that tell you about...
