I arrived at 524 on 5/14 for a pick up order already paid for. I Arrived, 2 persons were at the register. One dealt with the guest there before me. The gentleman acknowledged me and said give him one second.(he never returned during the rest of my time in the establishment) About 10 minutes later, the female worker, Shanique, returned, I told her I had a pick up order and I wanted to add 2 patties and coco bread, as I could not add them to my online order. I paid $11 on a card. She then walked off without a word to the back. A couple minutes later she returned. I informed her my food was on the rack, thinking that she would have warmed up the coco bread in the time she was gone. She said I know, and nonchalantly walked over to the patties, grabbed 2 white paper bags from under the counter, walked through the side door to the kitchen, did a few things then grabbed a coco bread with her bare un washed hands and throw 1 coco bread in the black microwave by the door, reach in with the same hands place one coco bread in a bag and then the other in the microwave. When she finally returned, I told her I needed to go I was in a time crunch. This seemed to make her move even slower for some reason. So I told her to just give me a refund, I no longer felt my time was respected, nor did I want to deal with the food safety issues I witnessed. While Mrs. Shanique was again very slowly attempting a refund I asked when the owner would be in so I could contact them regarding my concerns, to which her response was "she is not in". I then asked if the owner was in on any particular day or times. She said"No, she comes in at different times I don't really know when she would be in". I then said "ok, is there a way to contact her, a phone number or email or any manager?" She simply stated no. Read moreI really hate leaving bad reviews, but my experience here was nothing like what I expected based on other reviews—it was honestly so disappointing.
I came in on a Saturday evening for a birthday party with a call-ahead reservation. Even with that, it took 15 minutes to get seated, and then another 20–25 minutes before our server even showed up. When he finally came over, he seemed super annoyed, which made something as simple as ordering a drink feel like a hassle.
I asked about the Calypso Lemonades and was told they were out, even though I had literally just seen a ton of bottles in the fridge up front. On top of that, some people never even got the drinks they ordered. Two friends who arrived late waited over 40 minutes without receiving anything—not even drinks. At the very least, they should have had their drinks by then. Instead, they ended up leaving to eat somewhere else.
When the food finally came out, it didn’t even arrive all at once. Everyone got their meals at completely different times, so we couldn’t eat together as a group, which was really frustrating for a birthday party.
As someone who’s worked in hospitality and as a server for 10 years, I was blown away by how bad the service was. I can’t imagine giving my customers this kind of experience.
I love supporting local restaurants, but this place really needs some serious help. It was such a letdown. If you’re looking for a better option, you’ll be much happier...
Read moreThere's at least six people in line when I walk through the door. One cashier and she was already busy sacking an order. Waited a total of 17 minutes for my order. Took my food home. When I opened the box I smelled a faint smell of the fried cabbage I ordered. It smelled like it was in the beginning stages of going bad. Sweet potatoes had very little seasoning. 2 things I tossed in the trash. My 2nd time here and I'm not impressed or satisfied

Boiled, broiled, fried, shish kabobed, dried in the Sun, canned or whatever you call what you did to the cabbage. But it was clearly CABBAGE Sir. Let's not have a play on words situation. Doesn't matter how it's cooked, ultimately it was spoiling. Since you want to play with my intelligence sir. There will definitely be no returns for me nor my family.
