El Mercado Fresco — Local services in Kansas City

HORRIBLE, very disappointed. CHEATING, please beware! Can you NOT tell this is NOT Hawaii Plantain? This is Finger banana which only cost $1.49/lb. Today I took my mom to visit this specific location since we love to support local businesses. However, instead of getting charge for the correct price, the cashier Ingrid charge me $2.99/lb. I live more than 1 hour away but was in the area so decided to shop here, but this is BEYOND the worse experience ever especially this is the first time being CHEATED out like this. This cashier was so busy talking to other cashier instead of focusing on her job and take care of Customers correctly. I would like to put this out to raise awareness to all shoppers to be careful when shopping at this location. This is a big and nice store but the CHEATING experience of charging customers the wrong DOUBLE price is very UNACCEPTABLE! I have been to all El Mercado Fresco locations in Kansas and Missouri, But this is by far the WORST experience I ever received. FYI, Hawaii Plantain is Huge and sold separately by each individual banana, not a whole branch like the one I purchased. I have attached a picture of the Hawaii Plantain to be compared. This will be the FIRST as well as the LAST time, my family will shop at this location. My family and I will be sure 💯% to spread this incident to everyone to raise awareness! So Today I had gone to El mercado fresco because I had to buy some medicines for my daughter and water bottles. I asked nicely to the cashier to charge me a pack and by the moment the transaction was complete on my way out there was no more water bottles so I asked the lady hey do you know how long would it take she did not tell me a time frame at all she was only communicating with her coworkers and I let it slide. 4 mins pass NOBODY told me anything so I go back and say hey how long I need to go and Rudeee cashier catch a attitude so quick with me and said it would take them a bit of time. I asked them if I could grab a different kinda of water Idk and nope still rude as heck, Cashier and Security were super rude towards and she called me “Ridicula” so I will go back tomorrow and talk to management or to owners. This is my favorite Mercado Fresco. It has tons of products, the bread is very fresh and tasty, the papayas ripe properly. The girls at the register are very polite. I wish all their employees spoke English or at least were enrolled in English classes. If employees spoke English, more non Spanish speakers residents would be willing to go there to shop and support the latino economy. To cross bridges, bridges must be two way roads.
