Taqueria El Torito — Restaurant in Kansas City

Today September 2 2018 I walked into El Torito to enjoy my lunch. The visit started just fine we ordered our food and my friend even helped the waitress who kept dropping things. I didn’t mind it as much as I waited longer for my food but what I didn’t enjoy about my visit was as I was packing my meal to go I find a black short strand of hair which wasn’t mine because I have blonde hair. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress I got a response of “ I’m sure the manager will talk to you” then a woman who doesn’t understand English came to tell my friend not me the Person who had hair on the meal that I wouldn’t have to pay. Then as I was paying for the tacos my friend ate, the cashier threw an attitude my way as I suggested to just charge 5 on my card to pay and leave. She held my card and had a discussion with about 2 other ladies who wanted to know what was going on. Then the cashier insisted on opening the cash register and tossing me fifty cents. Throughout my visit the one part that made me write this review more than the other parts was how the cashier tossed me change that I didn’t need done and the attitude I was given. The cashier kept telling the girl next to her in Spanish “I know he’s saying something bad what is he saying .” The whole situation was not handled correctly in my eyes. I will not eat here again. I love their food it’s really good but I refuse to eat here anymore. Every time I go in there I get an iffy vibe but I ignore it because their food is really good. However the breaking point for me was when I called and did an online order. Yes I should have asked for chips and queso over the phone when I initially put in my order but I didn’t think about it until I got to the restaurant. I asked could I purchase an order of chips and queso and the lady told me that there were no more chips but as I was waiting on my order I seen the waitress continually bringing out free chips for those who were dinning in. A couple weeks after that I tried to put in a call in order and she put me on hold. I was on hold waiting for 10 minutes while I heard her taking others orders that was in the store. It was even a point where she stopped taking orders and then started again. I hung up and and when I called back all of 4 times, it was like their phone was off the hook all four times I called back. Went here a few weeks ago w/ my family. Worst dine in experience we‘ve had. Our chicken fell on the floor as the server sat the plate down and she told us not to worry about it and she’ll bring us a new one, we gave her the old chicken back but when we got the bill she was trying to charge us for two chickens. Any other restaurant would’ve comped the chicken and took care of the customer but this place here instead tried to humiliate my family. The server went around telling the whole restaurant that we were trying to leave without paying and locked the doors/called the police while telling us that she can give us the other piece of chicken from out the trash so we can pay for both. When the police arrived we explained the situation that we had never ate the chicken and it fell on the ground, we were paying for what we ate not for what fell on the ground. I know they were upset and embarrassed because the cops told them to stop lying and to remove the chicken off the bill so I can pay.
