We rented 3 SUPs. It was our first time renting SUPs with our small rental Nissan. The owner was amazingly helpful. We reached there at 3 pm and within 15 min, she had located the 3 SUPs, put two magnetic pads on top of the car, installed the SUPs on top of the pads, and then tied the SUPs to the car using a winch.

She gave us amazing advice on where to go for SUPing, we went to a location close to Anini beach, and went inland from the ocean to a waterfall. The last section was difficult as we could not SUP because of rocks, so went barefoot- the rocks were extremely slippery and pointed. But the waterfall was worth it.

Dad had never SUPed before, but she was very supportive, she even provided a life jacket!

We then called her at 6.40 pm, she usually stays till 6.30, but was kind enough to stay a little longer and we were able to return the SUPs - she has a 24 hour rental, but unfortunately we had other plans the next day.

This place was a great find to rent paddle boards. Most of the places in Hanalei charge you $40-$50 for the day, and you must return the paddle boards by 5PM regardless of when your rental started, at Hanalei Trading Company the price is $40 for 24 hours. The service was friendly, and the boards fit easily on our car with their foam pads (included in the rental price) before we shuttled them to the bay. I would recommend this place if you would like to paddle board more than once, or show up to Hanalei in the afternoon and want to return the boards a little later than 5. They close later than most of the other shops, allowing you to return your board until 6:30PM...
