This place was recommended to us by a friend in Phoenix Arizona. He knew the owner so I had to give it a try. They were closed the first time I stopped in and had a long line on the second attempt. The food was ok I guess for a food truck but the biggest negative was that I stood in line for over an hour. The 808 steak sandwich was not worth the wait or the $13 price tag. It was ok but not a 69 minute wait ok. The Steak was clearly over cooked and in small chunks that kept falling off the bun. Plus the sandwich was mostly lettuce. Fortunately, my wife talked me out of throwing the sandwich back at the cook. I really really wanted to do that. This was quite the disappointment based on the build up my friend gave me. I’m not a chef but even I can cook a steak, cube it up, and serve it on a dry bun in under an hour - from scratch! It would have been a lot more tasty. Additionally, I had to wait in the rain and was soaked by time I got my meal. REALLY! The excuse I kept hearing is, “we’re in the middle of the Pacific Ocean - things are more expensive and weather happens”. Yeah we’ll, Never again… People will rip you off if they think they can rip you off and will come up with any excuse to do so. Stupid Tourists will buy anything. We won’t be back. Even McDonald’s is better and quicker. This place sucks! I was about to cancel the order when they called my name. That would have been the best decision. I’d prefer to give no stars but had to give at...
Read moreYummy place, I’ve been trying to eat here for the last three days. We come ever year to support this food truck when we’re in Kauai. Make sure you check there times that they’re open because they’re closed on Sundays and close mid day during the week which I don’t recall this being the norm, Why the two stars for service? Well after several attempts to eat at this food truck I walked up at 3:00 which they close at 3:00pm as they were putting up there close sign they turned me away, which was pretty upsetting. What’s one minute to serve a person that as been coming year after year to support your business, I explain to them that I’ve been there three times this week alone trying to eat there and they did not seem to care. Well now I we be taking my...
Read moreThis was my first meal right after finishing the Kalalau Trail. My gohaena shuttle driver was nice enough to drop myself and another rider off near the Ching Young Village Shopping Center instead of Waipā. I asked him what his recommendation was for food near there and one of his highlights was this food truck! Told me to try the steak sandwich and boy did it not disappoint! Not to mention the lady taking my order was the sweetest and just so happened to be a former park ranger for Na Pali and shared a few stories with me at the register before getting my food. Very pleasant experience.
I ended up getting the steak sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a fruit punch. Loved every bite, would come here again, and will absolutely recommend it to anyone...
