Oh, boy, let me spill the spicy beans about this Indian food truck in Hawaii! It was a mind-blowing experience that left my taste buds doing the hula dance of pure joy. Seriously, I was so impressed that I almost started doing the Bhangra right there on the spot!
Now, let's talk about their coconut shrimp curry. Oh my dosa! This dish had me shouting "Mahalo!" with each heavenly bite. The creamy coconut sauce embraced those succulent shrimp like a warm Hawaiian hug, leaving me in a state of culinary nirvana. It was a tropical symphony of flavors that transported me straight to food paradise!
But wait, hold your curry pots, because the avocado naan was the real showstopper. I mean, who would've thought that combining avocados with naan would result in such an otherworldly combination? It was like the food gods themselves conspired to create this masterpiece. The naan was pillowy soft, and the avocado spread was so lusciously green and creamy, it could make even a palm tree jealous.
So, if you ever find yourself craving a fusion fiesta that'll make your taste buds do a hula dance, this Indian food truck is the place to be. Just be warned, one bite and you might just start booking your next flight to Hawaii to get another taste of their unreal concoctions. Aloha, flavor adventure!

Read moreOur experience at Cafe Turmeric was really bad. Although the quantity of food was good, the taste of the food was quite below par.
The surprising part was that my friend had ordered a vegetarian dish and they put shrimp in their dish. Although they were apologetic about it and returned the money, I don’t think they really felt the gravity of it, and the apology felt more like lip service.
I know this place has good reviews, however I would not visit this place again.
[edit 2021-10-06] The owner has refuted what I mentioned about our conversation, so I am removing that statement rather than go back and forth. However, the owner also mentions - "She did mention this mixup when you had brought back the plate with all the shrimp already eaten". The plate was returned the moment we realized it had shrimp. Maybe thats not the intention, however the statement makes it sound like we finished the food and returned it. Being vegetarians for religious reasons, that really feels...
Read moreFresh, hot food , and delicious too! We visited Cafe Turmeric after a rather disappointing experience at another Indian restaurant elsewhere on Kauai. We were traveling with our aged parents and were so glad to have found a place that served fresh, hot, authentic Indian food. The informal food truck setting is a welcome change from the standard stuffy Indian restaurant decor that we've come to expect. We ordered all the vegetarian dishes on the menu and loved them all, a Veg coconut curry, a chana palak , and a jalfrezi. Each was piping hot, served with seasoned basmati rice. The Mango lassi was superb, as was the turmeric hibiscus tea. The food is served on compostable, biodegradable dinnerware, which i appreciate. The town of hanalei is gorgeous in itself. Skip everything else and make your way here, its...
