Hobby Lobby — Local services in Keene

I heard a rumor that Hobby Lobby was moving into the ol J.C. Penny in Keene. I didn't believe it, then I made a trip to Bullmoose to buy the movie Gattaca (because life is closer to that reality now); and noticed there was a Hobby Lobby a few doors down! I couldn't go THAT day, so I made a plan to make a trip, and called some crafty friends to come with me. We went, just to see what they had, one of my friends wanted doll blanks, they don't have the TYPE my buddy wanted, but they have doll stands, all sizes, for decent prices. I bought my Nana a paint by number because I thought she would like to do, she's depressed and I said "I know You don't have a lot of wall space, but I'd love this as a gift." Meaning, I wanted to try to go e her something she LIKED to do, and as a way to get rid of it after, I'd be happy to get a 'homemade gift', she used to make us stuff when I was younger and I LOVE homemade, nothing better than knowing it was made by hand, with thoughts of me-I feel so rarely thought of too. Nana is still depressed, but I am SURE there is a craft/hobby here that she'd love to do, if I could get her out of herself (losing Papa has changed her to the core). Hobby Lobby is HUGE, but of a package looks torn, CHECK IT BEFORE LEAVING, I bought two strawberry planters, SOMEONE opened it, but I thought it was fine, got it back to the car, NO SEEDS! The planter was broken, they didn't accept it as a return, but I figured that would happen, at least I have to coco core, and a broken planter, it was half off, so 3 bucks for some coco core medium, expensive but useable, not what I thought I was buying, so BUYER be aware, thieves are STILL thieving and I got scammed- I can't blame Hobby Lobby for NOT believing me, they think I was trying to pull one over on them, but in reality we both got bamboozled by a kleptomaniac. I'd be skeptical too, but thought they could have checked the cameras and saw it wasn't ME that stole, why would I buy something that didn't have the PRODUCT I was buying? Why would I buy two of the exact same and claim only one was missing something? Make it make sense! Again, not going to demerit them a star because stove douche nozzle stole, I just hope those plants grow strawberries so big they choke on it and die, that would Karma at its finest, Nobody needs to steal fruit seeds, stealing fruit already grown, but damn it, this was supposed to be a...

Only my second visit and what a great store with lots of decor too, not just for arts and crafts. I was surprised to find yard outdoor or indoor pots of various sizes for low cost, nice styles too. I’ll buy them here from now on instead of other stores, never thought of this store for yard decor. Watch the tags on sale items. Look at them to be sure they don’t read “gift” as those aren’t on sale unless specified and they can be intermingled with the sale items. Usually still a low price but you won’t get the discount. Learned that on my first visit and made sure I checked the tags on each item to be sure they read the word for the discount. Check the farthest wall in the back on right, a whole wall of clearance items, can’t believe what cute or didn’t know you needed items for $0.67 😁 We went on a stormy ⛈️ day and had a lot of fun talking and shopping until the storm passed. Wasn’t very crowded. I find the items are good quality too...

Do you like being followed around a store by a manager? Do you like when they have clear signs that say 50% off right on an end-cap with some toy airplanes only to walk up and have the cashier ask you about specifics about your private conversation you were having while walking around? Then they tell you the items are not on sale and deny the sign was there while you WATCH the manager remove it and say nothing? If so, this is the place for you!!!
