They send mailers which often don’t arrive in time to avoid disconnection (lady admitted this on the phone to me that they knew this was an issues) they charge 100$ to turn it back on ON TOP of the base 75$ charge.
I have asked for email (they send out an ungodly amount for interruption) but they said they don’t do it KNOWING there is an issue with post office and younger generation don’t utilize the post. The Small cards they send with the bill on it often are missed in junk mail as it is a post card not even an envelope.
Last two months I have had to pay an additional 200 for return of WATER.
My two recent bills were paid in full once the water was turn off. This was the only notice I got l. May card was post marked 5/21 turn off date was 5/30. April 4/16 turn off date 4/25. This is only a 9 day to make a payment. This does not include transit time for this card to be delivered.
Once my bill has been received it has ALWAYS been paid in full.
Honestly it seems a scam to force us to pay more to have our water turned back on than to communicate or reach out to ensure the bill was receive (they do not offer an online bill the ONLY way you know what your bill amount is … is through a receipt of a 3x5 card.
If I could give negative I would. I have NEVER had my water...
Read moreWe’ve used them now for a little more than 3 years and have NEVER been late for a payment. I have always paid vía e-check online. This month I made a mistake on one of the digits in my acct number when typing it in and submitted the payment. I got a confirmation number with a “payment pending” and didn’t think anything else about it. I got a letter yesterday from this water company stating that I had “insufficient funds” and would be charged an additional $30 (and I know I have well more than enough to cover this It also stated to update our phone number and we’ve never changed it. I investigated and discovered I had mistyped a digit in my acct number and so I called today. The bill was originally $71 so and additional $30 would’ve made it $101. The acct now reads $121. She said she waived the late fee which would make it $101. When I asked why we weren’t contacted beforehand by phone or email she said that wasn’t her job to do that. So why in the h*!! Do you need an “updated phone number?” - even tho we’ve never changed it. I’ve been with this company more than 3 years and never been late or insufficient, and this is what happens. Smh. Ridiculous that it couldn’t be waived down to the...
Read moreUpdate 8/20/24: Day 8 of a water boil notice. It was 109 degrees today. The only direct communication from KWSC regarding these problems so far was a condescending email today that amounted to "It's unreasonable for you to expect a water company to be capable of cleaning water. Shut up and pay us." We've been with KWSC for nearly 3 years now. There are frequent problems, outages, and boil notices. I haven't had the water tested, but it seems bare-minimum acceptable -- it doesn't dry out or damage my hair or skin, but it's not drinkable without filtering because it tastes terrible. What are we paying for? My monthly bill for two adults who don't use an unusual amount of water is nearly four times higher than I've ever paid in the past for city water+sewer+trash; this is clearly a poorly run racket of some kind but we're kind of stuck at their mercy out here.
Also, your initial setup deposit, which is quite high regardless of your credit history, will not be refunded until you either move out of their service area or die. So it's not so much a deposit as an indefinite...
