The Grocery Outlet in Kenmore, WA is a staple for my daughter's shopping. Though the selection does not match the variety or volume in the nearby Safeway, if she can find items from her shopping list there... (And she always finds some...and at times most items.) It saves her enough to make shopping there first a worthwhile endeavor. I've accompanied her on shopping trips and have, on occasion, shopped there myself for her. Following Grocery Outlet, she will then finish up at Safeway. Those two grocers are the only two relatively near her condo. Now let me explain the three star rating. From me five stars is very hard to get. It is the terminal rating and implies no room for improvement. So I begin at three stars, expecting a good, average or generally pleasant experience. When that is what is delivered, the business is awarded three stars. Should I be pleasantly surprised by some aspect of the visit, I will add a star. If the experience blew me pleasantly away, I would have to add two stars and award the very rare five stars. When I'm disappointed in some way, a star will be lost. If I see some egregious problem, a second star is lost. And, for anyone who cares, when a fourth star is awarded to a business, attraction or service, that same level of service is the new baseline and to maintain a three star rating in the future, they will have to match what earned them their first four star rating.
