After three disappointing experiences I decided it's time to leave a review. I've tried copperworks the month they opened, a few later and today, August 2025.
I'm so frustrated that the customer service bar is so low. The surrounding local establishments (Postdoc, prev Cairn, 192 brewery, Tabs; to Bothell's Kro Bar, The cottage) have such a positive upbeat crew and in comparison Copperworks is a huge let down. We've been ignored or treated like annoyance for ordering something they are out of. No happy suggestion of an alternative.
Repeatedly I ask myself why am I paying for these pre mixed drinks and being asked to tip a crew that doesn't seem to care about any hospitality? I imagine there's something lacking in the management team that doesn't keep their team on board.
I think a lot of people rate this place highly simply because there's not a lot of "new construction" places serving liquor in the nearby locations.
This place is highly overrated... Other local businesses have way better service For cocktails this place isn't worth traveling to if you live further west
This place has an older captive audience that doesn't expect much because not much else is around.
I recommend trying other local places before this one; places that take the smaller town feeling to heart. It doesn't take a lot for good hospitality, and this place just keeps...
Read more$18 for a thimble-sized Old Fashioned and a glass of water? Gimme a break. I’ve had old fashions all over the world, from London to Bogata, Hanoi to Cairo and scores of places in between…some good, some bad, some large, but never something this small before. Pint-sized. Miniature. Hobbit-Esque. Micro. Pick your adjective. The whiskey was fine, actually quite good if not memorable, but the size of the glass flea-bucket I will never forget. Charge me $7-$8 for this and I would have enjoyed the 4 sips I got from it, and probably would have ordered another. But at the price they charged I will never be back. And I live just down the street. And as one who likes to have a variety of whiskey at hand at home, particularly local ones, to make my own old fashions, Copperworks just lost a...
Read moreWe drive by every week but didn't know about this place until we saw a story in the Shoreline Area News about their family-friendly weekend music events. We came for the first performance of the newly-formed Western Swing (plus) group Airmail Special. Amazing! Really great sound setup that you might not expect at a distillery. And yes, families with kids from tots to teens were welcome. We tried the peat-smoked whiskey. Really nice, and I'm not normally a whiskey drinker. Whiskey fans should try all their varieties. Thank you to the Cooperworks folks for sourcing their barley from local farmers just up in Skagit County. My only suggestion is--peat may be traditional, and the results were nice. But mining peat isn't really sustainable. Would fruitwood prunings work? They grow apples in...
