I had an ER visit on Friday, Sept. 13th. I was in severe pain, coughing, and fever. They had no kleenex available. It took everything I had to get myself to the ER. I sat in the waiting from 11:30 to about 3:00. Once I was brought to a room, my nurse came in and put a sandwich in my face with 2 apple juices-and told me that I needed to eat this and drink the juices because my blood sugar was low-which was strange to me because they did not draw blood. Come to find out, I was the wrong patient. I ate the sandwich because I was hungry. I was in room 20; it was the patient in room 22 who needed to eat due to low sugar levels. They played a lot in the back. I had to take my own culture. The PA had to come back and do it again because I did not do very good. I never found out the results of those cultures. The nurse brings a plastic bag to me with a tube of cream. I had to ask what this was for. I was fraustrated. So I stuck my head out of the curtain, demanding to see my PA. This review regards the Ochsner Medical Center emergency room in Laplace Louisiana, not the one in Kenner. If you know what’s good for you, stay away from this so-called “ER” in Laplace. It should be called a high end and urgent care, not an emergency room. They are not equipped to handle trauma, by their own verbal admission during my recent visit, and they take entirely too long to evaluate, screen, and begin to treat patients. We received my x-rays results on the patient portal for Ochsner about 10 minutes prior to the practitioner coming in to give me the results. This place is a joke. They recommended ice pack for swelling during my 2 1/2 hour stint in the ER, but they provided no ice pack. They inquired about me wanting something to drink, but never provided water. Everyone on the staff and all in ownership should be summarily embarrassed by the incredibly poor, inattentive and unforgivably pretentious presentation at this location. Oschner Hospital & Staff Kenner LA was Awesome in helping me recover from a Asthma Attack along with Blood Pressure not stable they brought me to back in no time length getting me stable also educating as I was being treated for everything going on at the moment. They checked on me Periodically making me feel comfortable & Pain Free Breathing better too. Even letting me know when I go home how to keep living a Healthier Life's Journey. They carry a Spirit of Excellence. Highly Appreciated & Recommend being you need a Hospital. I was admitted as well the Hospital, Food was Good as well even though I was on diet food still had the taste as though I eating Regular Food Cooks There were Excellent. So Grateful I choose them wouldn't be any other place. So! Don't pass them by I didn't and glad I choose them because I'm Healed feeling Sooo much better than when I arrived there.
