Very disappointed in this event. Arrived just before 8am. Was directed to park on the far east side of the park (with a handicap person) for best access. Went to a gate that was close to find we had to go to ticket booth farther to the east. A security guard let several groups of us through an opening to get tickets. Once we wait, get tickets then head back to the opening and met with the rudest female security guard ever. She would not let us through had to go around. Well now we are on the side of the fence where we should have been checked for contraband and tickets, but none of this had happened. Make to back to the parking lot hand out wristbands, go through security to find out that we have been parked on the reserved tent section. So we have to make our way around to GM. It took about an hour to get to a spot because of my disabled partner. I sent several hours talking to different people and no one knew where the people in charge were. Best thing I got was look for red shirts in golf carts. Talked to a few carts but they said they were just venders, volunteers, or cops. The pre air show was great, and the boat race was to be expected. I have not been to this event since the pandemic but probably will never come back or recommend this to others, it truly is going down hill.

I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed these races almost every year since I've been a young boy. It's a well organized event with plenty to do for all ages. The wild party it once was has become a family friendly affair. Sunshine, a beautiful river, friendly people, an air show and H1 Unlimited Hydroplanes. I can't think of another place I'd rather be every year on the last weekend of July. If you haven't been, go!

The best part of Water Follies is seeing, hearing and feeling the power as they fly by the shoreline! The HAPO airshow is pretty sweet too! The jets are my favorite. This year it was the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

I have been attending the Columbia cup 47 years straight. Atomic cup and Gold cups. This year 2023 will be my last one. I go to these events to see Boat Racing. Not Air Shows but Boat Racing. The water follies has put more into the Air Show and less into the Boats. In the past 10 years at least its all about sitting and waiting. A lot of time wasted that could be filled with K Boats, Competition Jet Boats, Cracker Box, and how about some Top Fuel Hydros. The air show should not happen on...
