Marc's Stores Kent — Local services in Kent

In the past month I have had two eye surgeries. Since I cannot drive, my sister has been driving me to appointments. She offered to stop anywhere I might need to go since we were already out. Both times, she took me to your Marc’s in Kent so that I could pick up baking supplies for my holiday baking. Both times my cart was filled to overflowing and both times I checked out at a register with a wonderful cashier named Shirley R.

She was so patient and once I explained to her that I was not allowed to lift much weight she packed my purchased Marc’s bags very carefully. Both times she called for a young man to carry out my groceries and showed concern as to whether I would have someone at home to help me unload. Both times, the young men who loaded my car were ( one was named John and the other I believe was named Steve) so kind and courteous! They had me get into the car out of the weather while they unloaded my cart and refused the tip that I offered them respectfully.

I had never shopped at this Marc’s before but it will be my Marc’s of choice in the future. I worked in retail mgt. over 40 years and appreciate a clean, organized, well stocked and maintained store. But... more than anything else I really appreciate the level of excellent customer service that I received from Shirley and the guys! Please give your mgt. team at the Kent Marc’s a BIG YAHOO!!! They are doing a great job in their hiring choices and their training! This is a Marc’s that puts the customer first! Thank you!!! And... thanks Shirley R.! You...

I really love this Marc's store--- friendly, hard working assoc. really make a trip enjoyable (and a super duper closeout section!) - and this location has 3 amazing employees-- 2 in particular are at the front service desk (Katherine, and I am not quite sure of the other gal's name, but always wears a black face mask)- these girls literally bound back and forth from the CS desk and other checkouts to assist under age cashiers cashing out alcohol sales- and are always super friendly and personable, no matter what time of evening it is. I really, really appreciate their efforts, b/c it is so rare to see caring employees in the modern day. I also wanted to mention their closeout section is ALWAYS in immaculate condition, everything is so orderly and organized, shelves are always filled up with goodies, and the $$ are incredible for this financially poor inflationary period. There is a male assoc. that I always see tidying up this section, wow does he put in the hours, is always working so hard making this section so nice and neat. I just wanted to mention this b/c I do not think hard work is praised and/or noticed, but none the less appreciated...

I have shopped here for years and the very first rude cashier I've met was some female on oxygen who because of her politics was not only rude was admittedly endangering people's' lives and bragging about it during covid and says she will do it again. I have people who work in the healthcare industry, hospitals and Doctors offices in my family who have first hand knowledge of the devastating loss of lives that covid caused. I am also severely at risk because of my own health issues and for her to be rude because I was wearing a mask and she thought it was stupid is beyond my understanding. Funny how I haven't been sick with a cold or the flu or covid and have had no allergy attacks since I started wearing it while she admitted she had covid because she didn't think not helping to spread the virus was worth her time. She also said since she lived it couldn't be as bad as people were saying. Covid is not going away thanks to people like her who couldn't care less how many people die because of her.
