Beaty's Shoes — Local services in Kingsport

I am so surprised at the poor reviews. I have never left Beatty's without at least one pair of shoes. They carry quality brands at discount prices and some may have blemishes. I buy my Birkenstocks here before I check anywhere else. As with all stores maybe the days people went, they may not have stocked yet for the day. I have never been disappointed. My most recent purchase was the Oofo's recovery slides. They were 50 percent off. They retail for 79.00. I got them for 25.00 I also bought a pair of Crocs super cheap. Some of the brands I have purchased in the past are Guess, Dan Post, Franco Sarto, Clarks, Bass, Asics, New Balance, On Cloud, Adidas, Nike, Puma, Miz Moos. I like quality leather shoes that are going to last. I have shoes I bought here 10 years ago that still look brand new. I have never paid over 70.00 for a pair of Birkenstocks at Beatty's. I buy a new pair every year. Do not sleep on Beatty's. Its my first stop shop for shoes. I have bought many pairs of black work tennis shoes here. They have a great selection of work boots as well. I really was very disappointed with my first trip here. Everyone had built this place up to be a pretty decent shoe store, but upon arrival, I didn't feel like anyone was seeming available. In fact, we were in there a good 20 minutes at least and I don't recall being approached at all nor saw any staff at all in sight. It seemed like all the staff were in the back of the building and none were present at all on the floor. There's slim choices for women's tennis shoes and although I would have asked someone had someone been available, there just seemed to be the same two or three pairs of very ugly shoes. Perhaps it was that the staff were in a meeting during a pretty busy time of day as several people meandered around. Maybe it was also the non priced tshirts that we left hanging because there wasn't anyone around to inquire with on a price. The staff on wed 1/29 at 4:30 pm was very rude and so slow. They were laughing at me when I left the register because I was confused why the sign said the socks were 40% off (big sign above the socks too) but you get to the register and it's only some of the socks. The same with the boot sale (50% off the boots on the floor) and then you get to the counter and it's "oh sorry I shouldn't have put those boots on the floor. Every boot except that one is on sale". Very misleading and like I said the customer service was terrible. The girls there talked about how it wasn't them and was talking about me with the customer behind me and shaking their heads when I left. I didn't cause a scene like that when I left...I just saw it when I left. I will be sharing on all social media that I can and tell people not to shop here. I like to shop local where I can but I won't be made fun of in a store...
