Cato Fashions — Local services in Kingsport

I’ve debated whether to share this on social media, but I think I will anyway…

Yesterday I stopped in at Cato Fashion here on West Stone Drive in Kingsport, TN and found a few things I liked. Went to check out (the lady at the register was very nice…friendly and cordial, and I’m not blaming her bc she was just doing her job) handed her a hundred dollar bill and she told me they cldnt accept it bc it was an older bill without the security strip in it. Now I realize counterfeit money is a problem in this world and I can understand businesses precautionary measures, but how are we suppose to know your policy on things like this! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Disclose your ‘can’ts and won’ts’ at the entrance before we waste our time in your businesses.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And another thing…whatever happened to the markers for detecting counterfeit bills? Is that still a thing? Needless to say, I won’t be back in that store. I think that’s ridiculous that a retail place of business is not equipped or prepared for things like this when they arise!! IT IS NOT THE CONSUMER’S FAULT YOU CAN’T TAKE OUR OLD BILLS!! STEP IT UP AND GET WITH THE PROGRAM OF CHANGE!! WE SHOULD KNOW THIS BEFORE WE OPEN YOUR DOOR AND WALK IN!!!!

I have shopped there often, but don’t think I’ll be back after stopping in yesterday. Immediately when I went in, the two sales ladies seemed to just glare at me. No greeting as usual. I began to browse as they continue to stare at my every move which made me very uncomfortable. Once I moved over to the other side near the back, one of them approached me just to inform me that they were closing at 8:00. I had been busy shopping at Lowe’s and didn’t realize what time it had gotten to be. I replied that was okay, that I was just browsing. She then said, “that’s in three minutes.” I simply said, “I’m leaving,” and did just that. I think their demeanor was rude and...

My wife found some clothes on Cato’s website and sent me there to buy them for her. Seeing as how I’m a bald, bearded 6’3” 330lbs man I had no idea where to find what she sent me in there for. Luckily the lady working there found the items my wife wanted in less than 2 minutes and I really appreciated her help. My wife loved the clothes she bought and they had great sales going on them so because of her saying they have frequent and great sales and because the employees there were so nice and helpful I would recommend this store to and woman looking...
