Would highly recommend Jeff's to anybody! Seriously an awesome experience that has been more pleasant than I could have ever imagined. My experience with Jeff's started with a txt to my buddy Taylor about a guitar and a specific sound I was looking for. He instantly suggested i come down and try out 2 different guitars because they fit the bill I was describing. So I walk in and another fella there hands me Martin Drs1 and with the first strum of a g major I smiled from ear to ear. They nailed exactly what I was looking for and their price point was right with Amazon, eBay, and Musician's Friend...so it just made sense to buy local small business and walk out with what I wanted. After a couple of weeks of letting the new wear off, I decided to let them do a setup on my new guitar because i knew it could play a little better...i mean who doesn't adjust everything from the factory right?? Lol. Anyways...i strongly suggest that if you already have a guitar or if you buy one from them to let them do an adjustment. I got my guitar back today and I'm telling you...this thing is awesome. A 2 year old with a balloon ain't as happy as I am right now. With all of this said, I'll only be buying from Jeff's...they simply have the best shop in the tri cities. Knowledgeable staff of cool guys...even the customers that came in while I was there were exceptionally nice and fun people.. this shop has that old school music shop feel...no frills and just a boat load of inventory matched with great people keeping playing music a lot of fun...
Awesome experience and a huge thank you to Taylor and the rest of the staff....i could...
Read moreOne star is being generous. Brought my guitar in for a bridge repair. After 3 months I called to just get it back and take it elsewhere, but Jeff called Chuck (the luthier) and Chuck called me back as the guitar just happened to be on his bench. Chuck explained to me he would get some glue under the bridge amd clamp it. He would have to wait for it to set a 3-4 days and then if it pulled up under tension he said he would do a full reglue, separating the bridge completely, smoothing the adjoining surfaces and regluing. Then another 3-4 days, restring, and see how it is under tension. The simple reglue Chuck said would cost 30 bucks and the complete reglue about 80 because of the work involved. So I got a call 2 days after this conversation that my guitar was ready. And the cost was 80 bucks. I asked to speak to Chuck about the details and was never called back. So I went in intending to pay the full amount and explained to them I was not comfortable doing so because Chuck said he was doing the simple 30 dollar reglue. After some back and forth they charged me 50 bucks. Got the guitar home and found that the bridge had come back up where ot was previous to bringing it there, the guitar had not even been wiped down or cleaned, plus I got a bonus glue smudge on the soundboard, and a free piece of folded up sandpaper that he dropped through the soundhole. True story, form your own opinions. But this flatpicker is never setting foot in that place again. It is hard enough to find a quality luthier who will treat your instruments the way you want them to be treated....
Read moreMy name is Steve, this is my wife's account. I've been coming here for 20 or so years since I was 12. Joe is an amazing guy and very knowledgeable. I always come to them for anything I need. They have an awesome selection of all instruments. And I mean pretty much all except for maybe a grand piano. Jeff probably has one in the back if you asked. Haha! But seriously I grew up with these guys and now I bring my 2yr old daughter in and Joe always lights up! It's amazing to know you have a store who not only sells things that you're passionate about. They're also passionate about you and your needs. Just bought a super distortion and liquifire pickups to put in my epi Les Paul. They even had new CTS pots for it. Please support your local music stores!! Nowadays people read specs and hope they match they 1k guitar you bought online. For an actual store they have amazing prices. I don't mind paying a few extra (if any extra at all) to keep them in business they kindled my love of guitar as a kid and have become good friends, not just to me but my family. My little brother is a drummer. So he buys from here too! Come buy and bring your family, friends, band mates. Even if you do t find what you're looking for, I promise you will leave satisfied with their knowledge, effort, and customer service!! And you'll have made new friends! 15/10, hands down the greatest guitar store I've...
