The veterinarian and its technicians at Forever Vets have a blantant disregard for owners and their desires in regards to their furbabies. I went in this afternoon with my 5 yr old 62lb Husky/Malamute mix for a routine exam and vaccinations. We just moved to the Orlando area from North Carolina and hadn't found a vet yet, but since the reviews were good; decided to try Forever Vets. When I called the day prior to the appointment I verified that the vet had experience with huskies and bigger dogs. I was assured that the vet was experienced and knew how to handle our canine family members. I also asked about muzzling and if they would muzzle the bigger pup pups and was assured that they didn't at all. So feeling good, I scheduled an appointment and brought him in today. The staff at the desk were kind, quick, and efficient at their tasks and it was only a few minutes from walking into the vet that we were placed in an exam room. The technician came in and we went over a health plan that was available and started to discuss the purpose of the visit. Like I said, it's a typical routine visit for vaccinations with a heart worm test thrown into the mix. The technician said they would need to take him to the back to complete the heart worm test and, before they took my fur baby, I verified once again they would not muzzle him without permission. You see, my husky is a rescue and has slight trauma from being muzzled previously. Once I adopted him, I took him to training classes and started training him as a service dog until it got to expensive to continue. He has not been muzzled since because it causes him to have bouts of sickness for hours afterwards. Well, the tech assured me they would not muzzle him and took him into the back. A few minutes later, we hear his muffled whining and we thought it weird he wasn't howling like usual (He's a husky - it's in his blood to sing about everything). I step out of the exam room and look down the hall to see that they placed a muzzle on my puppy without notifying me or asking permission. I was tempted, so tempted, to just bust into the exam room and grab my baby to race him to freedom, but due to the nature of the tests they were running; I didn't want to cause more harm to my baby than they already were. Once they brought my handsome man back, I confronted the staff. Their reasoning was that he was getting snippy with them and it was a liability to not have the muzzle. So I asked why they didn't come get me and was told it was a liability. So I asked why they didn't come get my permission after I was assured twice that this wouldn't happen; their excuse was that it was a miscommunication. The vetenarian then tried to further justify not notifying me by saying they couldn't hold my fur baby down because he was so 'big' and they were short staffed. I am 5'3 and 130lbs. I handle my trained pup pup just fine by myself and the last three vetenarian offices I took him to did as well and they were roughly my size to go along with it. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper and the staff made it seem like what they did wasn't a big deal - except they're not the ones having to clean vomit out of their carpets for the next three hours. Against what I wanted to do, I paid for my visit, instead of storming out, and decided that Forever Vets will never see another one of my furbabies. If you still want to use this vet, be sure to go into the back even if the technician tells you that you cannot. They will try to hide what they're doing to your baby behind a closed sliding door and won't give a flying flip if they're traumatizing your furry...
Read moreI have two dogs, a senior and a puppy. They were both showing the same severe symptoms and needed to be seem immediately. My original veterinarian didn't bother to try to fit us in and wanted to schedule me out 2 weeks from today, so I called Forever Vets and they gladly not only helped me get an immediate appt for one, but BOTH of my sick babies!! I was in their office and seen within 20-30 mintues upon arrival. 👉(I would like to add how they have a chart upon entering the office; of all the patients with APPOINTMENTS that will be seen on the day welcoming them: the list was not short, so I knew they accomadated me without a hassle) So thumbs up on taking walk-ins, in a great timely manner. 👍
The front desk staff was very friendly, and thorough. The girl helping me, broke down all the vaccines, possible treatments, and prices before hand so I have an idea of what I'm looking forward too before they took my babies to the back alone to be examiated. Staff gets the thumbs up too! 👍
The Vet Tech Estevan called me while I was out waiting for my dogs to be examined. We discussed the dogs history and possible causes. We assumed the dogs might have contracted Giardia .. He was patient and spent time on the phone with me ready to answer any of my questions/concerns.. A happy staff means a happy boss (Dr.) right? So okay.. Things are looking good so far.. I have hope with my new vet..
My doggies had to be examined alone with this whole Covid situation, I was pretty nervous about not being able to meet their new Dr with them to get a feel of our new Dr's energy and how he would hand them.. However, he called me while he was examining them and was VERY VERY kind, knowledgeable, patient, and also informative. I love a Dr. that doesn't make you feel rushed, spends some time explaining anything you might/might not be aware of, and is willing to teach you about your dog's situation, possibilities and preventatives. Didn't rush me at all.. He gained all my trust over the phone!!
The dogs were ready after they ran all the needed test, was given the appropriate medications. The Dr. Met with me in person at the front desk to chat about the dogs and the medications he had prescribed for them and discussed follow up and the next steps, again... Such a kind, KNOWLEDGEABLE Doctor.
My vet bill came out to about 300 dollars. That covered TWO dog visits My puppies entire immunization vaccinations/rabies A few test that were run Medications... I am not mad about that price at all. It's honestly a steal for two dogs if you ask me..
Overall, Great expierence. I'm so happy I picked Forever Vets. I look forward to having you guys as my new provider and happy to ditch the old one!!
👉🏽 (I've read the negative reviews on this platform and I feel bad for some of the bad expierences some of the past clients had written, I'm not saying their experience wasn't real.. But I do believe alot of it is misunderstanding.. I didn't let negative reviews deter me away from my own experience. And I'm glad I didn't, I am a Director in Client relations, and you can tell from the type of reviews whose REALLY practicing poorly and this place IS NOT ONE OF THEM) 🌟🌟
Thanks again!! Keanu &...
Read moreMy experience was good but did not end well. I made an appointment for the same day using the first exam free for new patient promotion. When I arrived, the office was very clean and orderly. The woman at the front desk was polite and my dog and I were in an exam room right away. My dog was having an issue with her anal gland. I assumed it needed to be expressed. So, I asked the woman how much the charge would be only to be told it would be discussed later with the vet. That seemed ok so when the vet tech came in I asked the same question (thinking she would know the price and inform me). She says the same thing; the price will be discussed later with the vet. Ok...So the vet comes in. He is very polite and goes straight into the exam. Because she is having a butt problem, he does an anal exam. He then expressed her anal gland. (All the while I am waiting for this discussion on the price). A few seconds later he is done and leaves. The vet tech then proceeds to tell me the charge I owe them. Hold on, wasn't there going to be a discussion with the vet?? The entire visit took about 5-10 mins total from walking in the door, to going to the front desk to pay. When I get to the desk, I ask if there is anything that can be done since I specifically asked, more than once, about the price and was NOT given the price. She goes in the back room. The vet tech comes out and is not as nice as she was in the room. I ask her the same question. She tells me no. The price is the price and I already recieved a discount because I came in on the free visit promotion. I pay the charge but I am not happy. I feel the charge was deceptive because I SPECIFICALLY asked MORE THAN ONCE how much an anal glad expression would be and WAS NOT TOLD THE PRICE UNTIL AFTER THE VET DID IT. What if I could not pay it? What if I did not want it done? I was not asked if I would like her gland expressed. The vet just did it during the exam. I do not have alot of money and I will go without groceries to pay for my dog if she needs medical care. Thats not a problem for me. The issue is the seemingly deceptive price. So buyer beware, you may be charged for something you did not agree to before hand. Three Star. EDIT: I would like to provide additional comments to my original post. I received a call from the Dr. who apologized for a miscommunication with his staff concerning the cost of the requested service. He offered to refund my money and seemed genuinely upset for the error. I will be returning to Forever Vets Animal Hospital. Thank you for clearing up the misunderstanding. A+ customer...
