I did not actually visit this store but I did browse their website and spoke by email regarding one of their offered services. Their website states they accept high end consignments from the mid-century time period and to submit an inquiry if interested which I did. I have several very high end pieces from my parent's estate that are in great condition and were originally purchased in the late 60's and early 70's. I gave a thorough description of each item and included pictures of each of the 4 pieces. The response I received was that they would not be interested in the TYPE of items I had. The only conclusion I can draw is that the appraised value of my items ( roughly $2500 -$3000 for the sofa alone) is not "high end" enough in oder to be what they are looking for. I suppose my negative opinion of this place can be attributed to the TONE of their response. I am a firm believer in its not what is said, but rather how it is said. I understand they have the right to chose which items they accept and which they do not. HOWEVER, just because they do not want the 4 items I chose to initially inquire about, does not mean that I do not have anything else or know someone who has items they are looking to consign. As it turns out, I am sitting on my parent's entire estate of possessions which were collected during their 60plus years of marriage. Had their rejection response carried a different tone, I would have possibly submitted other items. I will not do so now and I definitely will not recommend this place based on this experience. Also, it seems to me that the items listed for sale on their website are over priced in comparison to other consignment stores and recent items that have been sold at auction. My advice, do your homework before doing business with this place and be prepared to be treated with a snooty attitude. The only reason I even gave 2 stars is because of how electric and rare some their items offered for sale are. Hopefully, others will not have an experience like mine. (For the record. I hate writing negative reviews like this and only do so if it...
Read moreBEWARE: DUMPY LOCATION in a very SKETCHY part of town!! For those unfamiliar with Knoxville: Don't risk your safety & getting your car broken into for such overpriced, generic and unexciting pieces. I am a Knoxville native & artist, and this is the worst wall art selection I've ever seen! And I used to work at a local art gallery, so I've seen it all. Way too many boring brown wood finish tables in this shop...WOW, ANOTHER Herman Miller piece, HOW ORIGINAL!! Who wants to pay $3k-$5k for a mass-produced boomerang table? Not me!! I'd much rather have a ONE-OF-A-KIND artist created piece, so this store is a HARD PASS FOR ME!! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME;...
Read moreThere are few places for an adult to feel like a child jn a candy store. This is one of those such places. I am particularly impressed with the eye for detail they carefully exhibit in every piece. Mcm is very popular now but there are few places who show a sincere love of restoring the pieces to showroom quality as this place. Its like walking through a museum. I cant get enough of this place. If youre in the mkt for some quality pieces, this place is a must. Even if you just live the style you could spend hours just admiring what they...
