Central Cinema — Local services in Knoxville

I booked Central Cinema for a private screening for my birthday. It was my first time visiting the theater, but I really liked the atmosphere, filled with tons of fun art and memorabilia from all kinds of movies. The theater itself is small, but it was very comfortable and well cleaned and maintained. There was a bit of a scheduling mix up, but the staff immediately went out of their way to fix the problem and make things right. All my interactions with the staff, from our email conversations booking the theater to our in person meeting the night of the film, were professional, helpful, and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Central Cinema to anyone looking for the best place in Knoxville to host a private screening of a film (BTW their COVID precautions: very good), and I look forward to visiting again when they reopen for regular...

Great value for great movies! We're visiting from Nashville and saw Swiss Army Man at 9:45 pm. Had a blast.

I love their ads for the movie series they do. You can tell the people who run the place love movies, and really obscure ones too! I'll definitely be back next time I visit.

Lighting: the lights in the aisle were pretty bright, we piled up coats in the seat next to us to block it out

Staff: friendly!

Cleanliness: yup! (Except sticky floors but that's every theater)

Seating: Looked like 80 or so seats and about 25 others were also there

I'm so grateful that this is a business in town. Without cool movie art houses we wouldn't get a chance to see many of the films that are worth watching. They are so hip to the B movie situation that I'm stunned when I see what they're offering each week. I've seen some really strange films and some really fun awesome things to the point that I am a total fan of this place. I want to encourage whoever runs this place to keep going... This is exactly the kind of business that Knoxville needs. Please support Central cinemas in Happy hollow district...
